Have you heard her sing live? She's incredibly talented. It most likely wasn't her choice to add the reverb. If you listen to some more videos of her singing live, you'll see how much passion she has when she sings live. It's not always about hitting the right note. :]

Singers do tend to lose their accents which I find funny too, but I swear Missy Higgins is one of the only artists out there (that I listen to at least) where I still TOTALLY hear her accent. In "Night Minds" and "The Special Two" it's totally there, and this song as well!

To an extent, I completely agree with you. Missy Higgins is an amazing, beautiful artist and most of the popular music today consists of attention whores with very little talent. Cough cough, Ke$ha, cough, Lady Gaga. But, in another way, I'm kind of glad that Missy Higgins isn't like the big thing right now. It makes me feel so much more privillaged and grateful that I know about her. If everyone did, she wouldn't be as special. Just another cheap fad the media pushes on us. :)
