This song also makes me cry more than any other - combo of the lyrics/story, Amos' emotion in it, and just the music behind it.... have played it to a few of my friends, and some have never heard Amos before, but after this song, and sharin some tears, their a fan, but this is always the first song they request when they're in my car (then sweet pea). But yep, I always just wanna give him a big phat hug when I'm listening to this, ha.
Sometimes I wonder If What's Been Going On is the after math to Careless...If you listen to Careless first and then What's been going on it kind of is a continued story. Maybe I'm a huge nerd..that could be it too, but try it sometime.
I could kinda hear what he meant but it's funny i didn't really take notice of it until later. It doesn't matter either cause this has gotta be my favorite track on the album. Great stuff.

@Curlyreetz Ugh, hate to hear that anyone would associate Careless w/Sweet Pea.
Careless is one of the best songs I've ever heard anyone sing, any era, any time, any voice. It's spectacular.
Sweet Pea...meh, not so much.
