You should explore EVERY part of Giant Crevasse. Try it, and you'll find the Meteor Strike (the name of Donald's staff).

Your best bet to level up (according to my experience) is the Rare Truffles in Neverland, at least you're really good at juggling them 100 times. One Truffle with 100 hits gives a total of 5050 EXP. Four Truffles? That's worth 20200 EXP in one go! Great for quick farming.

In any case, this brings up an interesting point; other then Donald and Goofy, the Beast is the only other Disney character to fight not one, but TWO Organization members (Xemnas & Xaldin). I have to say, that's a pretty good record.
