@newbeetledriverneeds have a better focus ring. ( i tried the feel of the kit lens it feels like scraping two cardboard tubes together) Looking for one that will reduce the noise given by the kit lens the Canon 18-135mm lens like how much it can zoom but its not sharp enough i'm looking for something that can improve the quality of the image and hopefully reduce the jello effect you get with CMOS sensors. I might not find all of this in one lens but i would settle for the noise reduction
Great video - shot via a great lens, I love my Canon 60 Macro - it's so useful and so sharp. I feel that its greatly underrated and because of that is a bargain for anyone serious about taking macro shots with a (none full frame) Canon DSLR. I'd love to see a decent review comparing it to an L macro lens - then again Canon would be able to charge more for it once the review had been published!
My favorite lens. I've had it since it came out. Great portrait length too, don't forget. (1.6x60=96) razor sharp, great color and contrast.

I got a t3i and I'm considering getting this. Is the lack of image stabilization a killer?

@ampix0 depends on what you want to film or photograph

@newbeetledriver well. How bad is it hand held in not super bright day light. what feels like a safe shutter speed for the IS not to matter.
