That snare sounds awesome, but I have an oc with no vents too, and I try to use the thinnest heads possible like weatherkings and it really makes a difference if you want a really "poppy" and dry sound
your whole set sounds good, especially for "not knowing how to tune." i recommend getting a Drumdial, it will cost like $60-$70 i think and it works wonders. seeing as you can afford an ocdp snare, this won't be a problem for you
good job man!. damn that snare sounds good, I just got My OCDP snare in and it sounds emazing, Oh and I also got the whole OC kit too, haha love it-dar
ur snare sounds gd, i hav a ocdp 14x6 vented 20 ply. Mines sounds better when i tighten the bottom skin quite a bit and really tighten the top... it sounds awesome, the trick throw off lets u get a more tight sound or a damp vibraty kind of resonance. hope it helps, it works for me!!
I think it's because of it's a non vented snare. But, I dont know if its a fake or not.. All I know is I bought it together with the drumset that's coming up soon. Thanks for checking the video!
Yeah it's a 20 ply. I don't know why but I don't really like the sound of vented snare.. maybe they were not tuned right when I tried it. Are you a drum builder?
i have the same kit

Hey, your chops are awesome, but your head choices are interesting.
Try Remo Smooth White Emperors or Ambassadors for the toms, Powerstroke 3 Coated for the snare. That should do the trick.

You should try a REMO coated ambassador. What head is on there now? A powerstroke? Sounds pretty good though!
