you know the messed up part is that people who get killed in battle are both thinking that the other guy is a the bad guy and that they are the hero. That is why war blows hard.
If not for guys like Furlong, we would have taken many more casualties. It wasn't just Canadian snipers, there were teams up high, and the way I see it they saved many lives. Thanx Rob, and all those who saved lives that day. There was more than 1,000 fighters dug in, and the intel was lacking to say the least. They did bomb the snot outta them that nite. The film and the presentation of events are perfectly captured. As a sniper in the Croatian Army during the war, I still think that the goal has been achieved with a little luck, but as a great hit. Good luck a second time.
Carlos Hathcock hit a target 2250m using a m2 browning a far more inferior gun not designed for sniping and with a less modernised scope trully a feat would like to see if they could pull that of in practice after shooting the tac 50 for so long i will give it to him though hathcock didnt hit a moving target imagine if he had a tac 50 or barret or even an inversion hed have goten kills over 2500m easy
i still don't get it. are they saying the US bullet got more air dynamic then the Canadian bullet? If so, why not just make more improvement to the Canadian bullet

Rob Furlong...It is very spooky, but the Word of God calls "a furlong" the meassure He uses to describe distance. For instance - the Ark after the Flood - stood still on the Mount Ararat 14 furlongs above the waters... As it has been said before (and I wonder why?) "all is in a name". this is wrong it was a British Corporal Craig Harrison killed two Taliban with consecutive shots at a distance of 2.47 kilometres (8120 ft 1.6 miles) in Helmand Province, Afghanistan last November (2009). He then fired a third shot and hit the Taliban's PKM machinegun in perhaps the most prodigious feat of marksmanship in military history.
@MrBrittrash The show was probably recored pre-2009 but this guy uploaded it after. But you're right, it kind of pisses me off that he only beat the Canadian sniper by about 30m... I find it hard to believe though that he purposely aimed at a machine gun to disable it I think they may have hit the gun first (not trying to put the British soldier down the Canadian missed too) But he did get two kills of so gratz to him!

Might as well take that video down because that Canadian sniper has had his record beat at least 2x since then. Chris Kyle is way better than this dude.
the problem with Pashtuns like them in the video arent scared thats why he got lucky with that shot because he had so many goes. If it was the opposite way round these guys would piss their pants as would any NATO or American army.
@ludicer Canadians generally speak in the same fashion as Americans. I'm not sure if you've ever been to Canada but they don't talk stereotypically like you'd expect.

We're all brothers in arms and who cares what country he is from its about respect for a beautiful shot that he made.
@Okankiller Why not. If fact another Canadian sniper broke the record a week or so earlier and Furlong broke it again. I have heard that a British royal Marine sniper recently broke Furlongs record by 3 feet or so.
@DomeSlapp its not the round its the shooter. And really americans are always trying to take credit for thing other people do. get over it, americans had nothing to do with it,
@73rdAirborne o ya , you BS but know the limit. M21 shoots 7.62×51mm NATO effective rang e 822 m (900 yd) that just once spec.. Go play your Medal of Honour and have a good day.
It was held by Rob furlong of the canadian armed forces until november 2009. The current record is now held by craig harrison of the british armed forces. His shot was at 2475m (2707 yards). Furlongs was 2430.
America was a gat country, now its broke due to its decades of war, but it still goes on although it hardly can pay the wages. In a few months the battle for raising the debt higher starts again, and again and again. A new war will sto
This is just murder, from a long distance you can never check who you are shooting at. This probably was an i nnocent father on its way home. Who knows. But america needs its wars, vietnam, korea, cold war, afganistan, iraq, iran (to come) and who knows. To inventa world record in distance killing people, that is really disgusting. Make a world record in longest peaceful living without starting a war would be a nice difference.
NEVER BEFORE SEEN 130 minute wtc attack video: 'Tuesday Morning in September', is. It is something from that day that you have NOT seen. If you have seen other posts about it on Youtube and not looked into it, please do. It is not like so much other shit that has been put out since 9/11; it is not a propaganda, and or opinion piece. It is something special that has no comparison. You can preview the whole 130 chronicle. It is posted in its entirety on Youtube.
THAT WAS AN AWESOME SHOT!!i'm a marine sniper and served in iraq and i can say that i had never shot my sniper rifle at that distance, honestly i have shot my rifle at a distance of a half a mile that's all i can say...but that shot was amazing oorah marines and to those still there we salute you!!
The Canadian also said that he was lucky because the bloke stood up at the right time. That is not a criticism. However it is no longer the longest kill.
Your saying UN impressive, shut the fuck up you stupid moron, I bet you have no gun experience what so ever but you THINK your an expert cos you play call of duty or summin. At that range previous shots are almost allways fired and missed but give a great indication on where the next bullet should be placed and how the gun should be adjusted, this is damn impressive! It's a world record for gods sake
@Kierangotwood I quite agree, I go through marksmanship training and how hard it is to shoot that range. calling that feat UN impressive is just plain arrogance.
Sounds like they were screwing around trying to snipe for fun and he got lucky and I say lucky because it wasn't one shot one kill.. making me want to say UN impressive
if u r in a war zone as a soldier u DON'T screw around (unless u r on a shooting range) because every time u fire that rifle u give away yr position and that's the very last thing that a sniper wants. and it's absolutely normal to miss a few shots on such long distances.
@ravenousjerboa no it's not. Barrett 50. cal isn't really a modell, it's like saying "Volvo V8 engine". Although both snipers are 50. cal, but one is McMillan and one is Barrett. I'm not sure which sniper the Barrett 50. cal from the CoD games is supposed to look like, but i think it kinda looks like the Barrett M95.
War used to be treated as a necessary evil that needed to be done. Now war is seen as a blood sport to fetishise, with TV shows about how far away you can shoot a guy dead from...
@trotskydolan It probably helps the populace back whatever wars the government decides to fight. The more familiar we are with it, the more entranced we are with it, the less we'll balk at it. It's sad.

It was held by Rob furlong of the canadian armed forces until november 2009. The current record is now held by craig harrison of the british armed forces. His shot was at 2475m (2707 yards). Furlongs was 2430.

Can anybody tell me things i should do before signiing up for the marine snipers?
3moskatezShuffler 2 weeks ago
@3moskatezShuffler as in?
myreaper31 2 weeks ago
@3moskatezShuffler
I assume you live in the US.
I am not USMC my self so it would be a good Idea to start there.
Also do so research into scoped weapons and rifles. And research what a sniper is as it is more than just firing the gun.
The US also has a good gun culture so you can get easy access to weapons and also training.

Pixopax 2 weeks ago

50 cal is something like a 6 inch long bullet, its huge.
the 50 cal machine gun is basically unchanged since world war one.
You wouldnt one of those to hit you.

TheR3B3LSOUL 3 weeks ago
The Canadian also said that he was lucky because the bloke stood up at the right time. That is not a criticism. However it is no longer the longest kill.
smilo996 3 weeks ago
Your saying UN impressive, shut the fuck up you stupid moron, I bet you have no gun experience what so ever but you THINK your an expert cos you play call of duty or summin. At that range previous shots are almost allways fired and missed but give a great indication on where the next bullet should be placed and how the gun should be adjusted, this is damn impressive! It's a world record for gods sake

@Kierangotwood well put
wararrows 3 weeks ago
@Kierangotwood I quite agree, I go through marksmanship training and how hard it is to shoot that range. calling that feat UN impressive is just plain arrogance.

matrixrules222 3 weeks ago
Sounds like they were screwing around trying to snipe for fun and he got lucky and I say lucky because it wasn't one shot one kill.. making me want to say UN impressive
iOrganicTank 3 weeks ago
@iOrganicTank again shut the fuck up !!
wararrows 3 weeks ago
if u r in a war zone as a soldier u DON'T screw around (unless u r on a shooting range) because every time u fire that rifle u give away yr position and that's the very last thing that a sniper wants. and it's absolutely normal to miss a few shots on such long distances.

is that the same as barrett 50. cal?
ravenousjerboa 3 weeks ago
@ravenousjerboa No its a different rifle made by mcmillan brothers rifle company. The barrett is fittingly made by barrett firearms.
tskip94 3 weeks ago
@ravenousjerboa no it's not. Barrett 50. cal isn't really a modell, it's like saying "Volvo V8 engine". Although both snipers are 50. cal, but one is McMillan and one is Barrett. I'm not sure which sniper the Barrett 50. cal from the CoD games is supposed to look like, but i think it kinda looks like the Barrett M95.
