The actor who played Stanley; was (AND IS) a UK actor of some reknown; Kenneth Cranham.
Every role I've seen him play is so far removed from the previous one, and I was quite shocked at seeing him in the opening scene of this play. His 'untogetherness' (in every possible way) was unlike anything I had viewed on screen before. Such a transformation! Scarily authentic!!
In everything I had seen him in before, he seemed so focussed and collected...
@hul0t Dunno. I think this Stanley has way more depth than Robert Shaw, good as he is. I really believe in what this guy is going through. I like the play. Reminds me of David Mamet.
