It's typically religion that retards and hinders progress. They say we're dabbling with god's creations. In doing so they're opening up debates of all religions, not just theirs. And it's childish.

Only a religious person or an idiot. Or a child. Would think that a Balrog of hell exists for real.

  • I actually disagree with the lady (at 6:02).

It doesnt matter WHAT we want to do with the time we're given. Or why.

Regardless. Point is we want it. Be it due to curiosity of the future, or the need to be with our loved ones. It's all subjective, personal use.

  • I wouldnt want to be immortal. But I'd like to live for 300 years. No more. No less.

  • i see so much potential with longevity of human life but will we have the resources and space for living so long? How will we feed all the people when we cannot even feed the 6 billion people living right now? The new scientific breakthroughs also brings new social issues in the present as well as the future.

  • No... the only question is how are they going to pay out the bet if the person is the same age as them..?

  • @Domzdream oh? So you are saying my Calc and chemistry college profs aren't educated? I guess my C# and arduino C lab equipment interface programs are going to stop working now b/c I dared to question a theory that thinks programs can come from nowhere. I'd love to hear what you think proves it as fact. I don't think it even deserves to be called an educated guess, but I love a good discussion. Please, tell me what you think as you say.

  • What is the obsession with immortality given that 1. Being human basically sucks, even if you have it good. 2. This planet is basically hardship and bullshit. 3 People are assholes in general.

  • @xonage2

    haha right on

    but consider humans in 2050

    it'd be alot cooler then

  • I wonder if they secretly cloned Einstine

  • Starwars Anyone?

  • watching this,i sometimes get the feeling that those scientists are,in certain way,no less determined to make a breakthrough, than some priests were determined to halt it centuries ago...at moments, their opinions border with rationalistic fanaticism...immortality being the nature of life???rebirth and reform rather...

  • clone wars

  • This series seems to go on forever!

  • lol i agree

  • Cloning things isn't scary at all. It's just making a twin of something artificially. No two organisms can have exactly the same DNA coding, but cloning gets very, very, very very, close to identical.

  • Typically when religion rears its ugly head, it retards progress.

  • @Domzdream especially if it's a superstitious religion like evolution.

  • I think it's great. The more technology can provide ways from killing all those poor beastes the better. I think in Switzerland they're engineering a meat growing body as a substitute for a live animal. Meaning, they'll be able to grow, like a cabbage, meat that is completely rich in all vital nutrients, but just it's not alive. Personally I think it's great. Think of how many animals die to our greed and need. To harvest something which doesnt live is progress.

  • tenth rateing 5 stars.. Is this real??

    Love you 6:06 2 6:09 got me.. :P

    ~<3

  • Why so, we WILL have health problems. As our demography professor put it: you don't die of bad cold at 50 these days. Instead, you die of alzheimer at 80. That's it. Well, social change has already occured: people FROM THE US, JAPAN and WESTERN EUROPE are getting older on average. Not the remaining 5 billion human beings...

  • The Knife and Battles as weell... give the sound editer a raise!

  • It's like biological Buddahism.

  • We surely won't have health probelms but we will have social issues.

  • Aphex Twin music in the background!

  • yeah! love the choices of songs too.

    Boards of canada as well.

    music....of the future.
