anybody else notice how short the skirts are? I saw an anime once and the skirts were really short, but I didn't know they were really that short. My school let's it be 4 inches from your knee when kneeling (mine is above obviously, as is everyone's, but that's still short)
@Kaityb96 Although in my old high school the girls used the Chilean standard jumper/pinafore dress (which some schools are replacing for skirts), the average length was about to the middle of the thigh. So I'm not surprised by the skirt length shown in this video.
I still think that the lengths shown in certain anime are way too short to be practical or tasteful, to the extreme that you can see the joint between the thigh and the hip, the widest point of the hips.
Its obvious that anime that portrays school life in japan are exaggerated, but I'm proud to know the length of skirt was never exaggerated! Hell ya! I would have no problem going to a Uniform school if the girls wore like these girls. God bless Japan XD

They're not that smart minded, most of the kids/teens that would want to move there would die if they hate the school hours they have, the school system in japan is twice as hard or not even harder then an american high school system. People move to enjoy diffrent cultures, america's culture to some can get boring, in which a move outside the country is needed.

@T1memaster There are downsides to both isolationism as a culture and to multiculturalism. The downsides are different both ways.
Isolationism keeps out valuable talent, people, advancing ideas and positive cultural traits that could benefit a socially repressed people like Japan (thats not an insult, just the reality). But multiculturalism also allows in negative traits from other cultures and impacts the sense of national unity (see Mexican parades in USA).
Both also have good points.

@T1memaster Rome didn't do multiculturalism, it assimilated everything and only kept the finer points, if any, of the talents of the culture it took over. Rome fell because it continually warred on multiple fronts, and expanded too far to defend its borders properly. Using Rome as an example just tells me you really don't get what multiculturalism actually is... or Roman history, for that matter.
Both have cons and pros. Pretending one is "better" ignores half the equation.
