#1 for Out-of-State: Binghamton University

hey guys

Im a 17 years old guy from Cyprus and im willing to study in the USA. Im a really goos student and want to exploit my learning skills to a high ranked university like this. I wonder if there are any exams I have to pass in order to be accepted by this university and receive lower annual tuitions plus scholarships,,,

mgoss85, you're making a point. But I attended Buffalo State for 2 years and even though they were students from Long Island there, they were a minority. Because of that, they blended pretty well with the rest of the student body. I had way more fun in Buffalo to be honest.

SUNY Binghamton is the gem of the SUNY school system. Its by far the hardest to get into. Im from Binghamton...so i know theres not much to do in actual Binghamton. As for Long Island people....I went to SUNY Buffalo, its the same here. Thats how it goes....they all go to school upstate, so it doesnt matter where you go, all the downstate people come upsate.

You guys gotta be kidding. This school is horrible. Be honest. I'm so glad I'm leaving this place. I guess the teachers are alright but 80% of the students are stuck-up . I assume you guys are from Long Island because that's the only reason why you could like this stupid school. Most students here are from Long Island.

Academically, it's a good school. It is quite challenging and some departments have excellent teachers; for example, the political science department here is top notch.

The graduation rate is pretty high as even the most stupid people tend to take their studies seriously. On finals week, you can't find a computer nor a space to study in the library. So that's a sign of the hard work here.

the experience is whatever you make it, sounds so corny but it's true. there's things you'll love and things you'll hate like any other place but you just gotta find your niche.

Don't go there. I know tuition is cheap but if you applied to Albany and Buffalo, it will cost the same. Binghamton is a shitty town and the college experience here is mediocre. I am being honest. Do not go there.

I haven't heard much about Plattsburg. But if you really want to stay in New York State and wanna have fun while in school, choose Buffalo or Albany or even Oswego. Binghamton MUST BE your last choice.

Well aren't you a positive one. You say 80% of the student body is 'stuck up', but do you actually know 80% of the college community? I'm going to Binghamton next week, I have my doubts, but I refuse to make a judgement call so harsh on the majority of people who go there. A college experience is what you make of it, and I'm truly sorry you had such a mediocre experience.
