From my experience you cannot get the glass “whiter” by etching it more than once or extending the time. If you want the “whiter” look you will have to either engrave it or blast it.
A Dremel can be used for engraving or carving but if you are blasting, Aluminum Oxide abrasive will work, it’s cheaper and more readily available than Silicone carbide
I thought the guy was sounding a little anxious while narrating and he was off on the time as well, per the instructions, not that it matters because you get the same results.
I hate these stencils because they do not come off as easily as in this video all the time. A little heat from a hair dryer works pretty good. At the end of the etching process you DO NOT have to waist the etching crème by washing all of it off….lightly scrape the excess back into the jar for later use and then wash off the glass. That is what I do and it works just fine for me.
suicide, i've tried extending the time and re-etching other sections to see if i can get a shading effect, all to no avail. pretty much glop the stuff on and after a minute, you'll get what you get. (the directions advise 5 minutes for custom stencils, though i've found no difference between one minute or 5 or 10 or 30, rub'n'peel or not.) wear gloves, though.

I know you can extend the etching time, but is it possible to do multiple treatments to get the glass really white?
