@chipbrown 321, wow chip I was making a comment on how great the choir was and just passing on that I do not agree with gayness and here you are pushing right back. Obviously you forget that this country was founded on CHRISTIAN beliefs by CHRISTIAN men. You need to understand that procreation HAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE between a MAN and a WOMEN. I am not a gay hater. Yet the biological fact still remains. Two men or two women cannot procreate and thus are NOT A NATURAL COUPLE.
@baggerbokaie Uhm. According to you, sterile couples and elderly couples who haven't had kids are unnatural? Yeah okay. It's okay to be a gay hater. But everyone deserves equal rights, whether you are gay, straight, bi, or trans gendered. They will live their lives, you can live yours. Gay couples have had children of their own on others ways besides adoption. Obviously, not with both of their DNA. But we live in the 21st century. America is the land of the free, not the land of the straights.
@gingerlycolors Do you mean "Jerusalem" by Parry? It's a gorgeous, glorious song I agree. I love it. However it only mentions "England" and if I was a Briton of Scots, Welsh or some other persuasion it might not be the best choice for the UK's National Anthem. Furthermore, it is a Christian hymn, and it might not inspire affection from members of the Jewish community or any other non-Christian British group.
I am a Christian and do not approve of gay anything, yet I must give this choir its dues as they were most magnificent. As long as a gay individual is not pushing their beliefs on me and or my country then I don't care what you are. The main thing here is that if there were two choirs on record how could anyone tell they were gay and dispute the greatness of the performance
@baggerbokaie Christian as well as other religions push their beliefs. All gay people ever wanted was not to be burnt at the stake by religions like the one you hold so dear to your heart. Please don't push your prehistoric ideas and please, the next time a gay person is in your presence, try very hard not to bash their skull in the name of some fictional god.
@blainmeador what exactly did they "do" aside from stand together and sing a BEAUTIFUL version of the Star Spangled Banner before an AMERICAN pasttime? You are clearly ignorant and have not couth, my friend. I've hear HACKS sing at ball games and are applauded and welcomed with open arms... Why not artists like these men? Join the 21st century... noone's afraid of you anymore. AWESOME JOB GUYS!
The music may be British, but the anthem's American through and through. You have to be British to know quite how turgid 'God save the Queen' actually is! On the rare occasions that we win a gold at the Olympics, the anthem's over before our competitor has adjusted the medal around their neck.
I've always felt a little unhappy God Save the Queen it's one of Canada's two anthems. Because if Britons are indifferent to the Queen, what are Canadians? I play it at public events never have I seen more than 1/10 of the audience sing along.
Britons aren't that bothered about God either, but we still do ok with the anthem, because I don't think a lot of people really think about it in a literal context.
That's a hell of a national anthem, sung in a way that made this Brit's eyes go moist! I do envy Americans their wonderful anthem - I wish we had one as good as that.
It is shameful to post such statements such as those, which run contrary to the freedom and liberty on which this country is based, on a video of an excellent rendition of the national anthem.
It's nice to here someone singing this with some dignity for a change. I get so tired of hearing pop singers using this song as an excuse to show off their vocal technique.
and what were you protesting? the singing of our National Anthem? The arrangement? Or are you so bold as to actually say out loud that you don't like gays? for this you miss a game? You are pretty shallow!!!!!!!!!! And not pretty at all!
Please accept my sincere apology as a born-again Christian for the ignorant and hateful words of some of my "brethren." Please know that many of us love you right where you are at, and do not differentiate between people based on their orientation.
That has to be one of the most moving renditions of the Star-Spangled Banner that I have ever heard. I was filled with pride for America. Many thanks to the Men's Chorus for standing up to foolishness and performing.
I felt so proud as well. After watching the stupid narrow-minded protestors outside, seeing the overwhelmingly positive reaction of the crowd, I felt like we are sailing on the right direction.
Euw there gay.

I actually rather like our anthem, though I seem to be in a minority. It's short, easy to sing to, and it has an air of nobility.
Unfortunately it's about God and the queen, two subjects upon which Brits are indifferent at best.
I LOVE the American anthem though, the tune is so unusual in how it dips and the ascends ... I love hearing it.

Well, actually, the music IS British. The Anacreonic Song (aka "To Anacreon in Heaven"), to be precise.
The lyrics are, of course, from Francis Scott Key's poem, "The Defense of Fort McHenry."
