  • As others have stated; maybe longest in America, but America isn't necessarily the bad ass, biggest of everything it used to be.

Sonsofbitches in the States would howl at 4 mile long trains. Massive dam? Hell no! Mega-airport? FU! Longest bridge? Suck my!

Lots of resistance, some of it legit, some bogus; you may be conned - American America again.

Long live the MF that pulls harder and breaks the trail so you don't have to guess as much.

    "Mystery Train" - Clapton -

  • nah..... the longest train is 4.65 miles long in australia....

  • Na, wenn der so langsam über den Bahnübergang fährt, könnte es schonmal etwas dauern ...

  • 7 people were late for work because of this train

  • Not record, but truly cool. :)

  • awesome! but the Aussie train is awesomer!!!

  • damn united states moving to a new country? geesh...

  • 6 people had to wait for this train to pass at a level crossing.

  • @VoxSweden or they knew it wasn't the longest

  • @VoxSweden can you speak swedish/svenska eller look at your name

  • @Yugiohfanist I can indeed!

  • @VoxSweden bra

  • youtube.com/watch?v=9LsuNWjRaAo&feature=feedf

  • this might be the longest train in the USA or worlds longest double stack container train but the official longest train ever was a mining train recorded in Australia

  • Sorry but the record is an Aussie one.... a BHP Iron ore train - June 21, 2001 in Western Australia - it was 7.353 km (4.568 miles) long....other than that.. who cares?

  • I happen to live in Chicago.. But the UPRR has broken one record as far as i know "Worlds longest train was not infact a UP it was something like Vortex had commented

  • This is not the longest train ever. when they were developing the ability to control multiple engines from the only the front engine they hooked up a train of empty mining cars, something like 7 miles long. there's a video of it on here somewhere.

  • BNSF 4 miler nothing but coal cars. 2 engines empty, 4 when its full

  • Try A norfolk southern coal train reaching 5 miles with full load

  • Train from Dallas to LA with 4 miles of double stacks being pulled by 9 Union pacific 4500-6000hp Locos traveling at 70 mph/ 115 kph

    that's common practice.

  • i wouldnt like to be waiting at that level crossing!!

  • @antonSCORCHIN yeah they should have done this at night

  • Run on 21 June 2001, comprising 682 wagons and hauled by eight 6000 hp General Electric AC6000CW diesel-electric locomotives controlled by a single driver with a total length of 7.353 km on the 275 km iron ore railway to Port Hedland in Western Australia – total weight 99,734 tons

    you cant beat that!

  • @tribble921 thats a lot longer than bhp's train

  • @duffy1285 That is BHP's train!

  • @trainboy437 no thats union pacific s train in the usa

  • @trainboy437 u idot it says union pacific on the freacking side of the locomotives unionpacific is in the usa not australia plus bhp is blue and yellow not just yellow.

  • @duffy1285 Your the fucking idiot. I see "Union Pacific" written there. Another user who posted the comment below is talking about BHP's train which is officially the world's longest train. OK, idiot?

  • @trainboy437 piss off u dick

  • @duffy1285 Your a fucking dick.

  • 6 people were waiting in there cars for this train

  • cars have to wait for that train to pass

  • thats very long men

  • See "watch?v=9LsuNWjRaAo&" for the real longest train!

    8 GE AC6000 locomotives

    682 loaded iron ore wagons

Gross weight of almost 100,000 tonnes

    Moved 82,262 tonnes of ore

The record was set on June 21, 2001 in western Australia between Newman and Port Headland, a distance of 275km (170 miles)

  • @bookworm1960 I just followed your link and... omg? It's over 4 and a half miles long.

    Amazing.

  • WOW NOW THATS A TRAIN

  • This train isn't the record for longest train in the world, but it is the record for North America. UP organized this train in order to test the new GEVO's with multiple DPU's.

  • The FEC ( FLORIDA EAST COAST ) runs trains as long as 14,000 to 15,000 ft on a regular basis.

  • Very Impressive but I have run freights on Norfolk Southern at over 10,000 feet and remember CP Rail bringing a train into our yard from Windsor Canada at 13,000 feet with 3 SD40-2s. Trains have no ending lenght. As we speak there are dozens of trains out there that are over 3 miles. Sometimes railroads will put two trains together if the are short on motive power. The worlds longest train on record was in Australia at about 6 miles long and pulled by 8 BHP AC6000CWs. Check it out on YouTube.

  • @8747csx You are correct the longest train was BHP iron ore with 8 AC6000CWs, but it was not 6 miles long it was 4.568 miles.

  • Lots of nice imports for us!

  • Just goes to show, Trains are safer on the enviorment than trucks!

  • now THAT'S a efficient way to haul.

  • was this in los angeles?

  • I would assume it mainly originated in LA, but no, I think this shot is from Texas.

  • only USA record 5,5km, australia has train 7km

  • i wonder how long that takes to start/stop

  • @MrSmellyMonkey I wonder how the UP even built it, it must have had the highest priority on the line! Shame the heritage units weren't on it.
