  • Hey Kelly...not sure why this didn't show up on my list of subscribed channels but I discovered accidentally some of my fav folks videos hadn't so am glad I checked out your channel for anything new. Love your hair btw. Great video as usual...I think that processed foods are evil..lol. They are all around us and when you read the label it's like what the hell language is this because nothing on it sounds like an actual food! Hope you're doing well! We need to see an update from you :)

  • I want to thank u for the way u put together ur videos. I will be having the Gastric bypass surgery on the 15th of February. Now that is getting closer I'm freaking out! All kinds of fear, including the fear of gaining the weight back. Though I do hv a plan in place & I understand perfectly what I need to do to avoid that. Anyways thanx again! U look great

  • ... The way the western medicine determines ideal weight is overly simplistic hogwash. If you're doing the work to have a healthy body, your ideal weight will reveal itself.

    Research revealed that 90% of diet/weight/excercise scientists and researchers are anoretic ideating. And that most of the mainstream information about health, diet and weight is heavily skewed because of their anorectic bias. We've just gotta learn to listen to our own bodies and intution to make sound health choices. <3

  • ...#4 You look great! It sounds like your weight keeps going towards the150-160 range. I bet that's a sign that that range is ideal for you. I totally agree that a number should never be the goal; what matters is that you're eating well, excercising as you should, and feel strong and healthy.

    Everyone has there own ideal weight spectrum. Even people of the same height may have a different spectrum because the stucture of their bodies is different...

  • #1 Your videos are great, I really enjoy them!

    #2 You don't ramble at all! You present your ideas in an articulate, clear and concise manner. If anything, your pace is a bit fast. I'd love it if you spoke a tad more slowly and took longer pauses between phrases.

    #2 I have EXACTLY the same experience with sugar.

  • Yet another great video...thank you! I've believed sugar is a drug ...it makes me sad how much sugar is in foods! I love what you said about living a normal life and having a normal relationship with food. I can totally relate to the excess skin topic,too! I hear ya!

  • I definitely agree with the sugar/carb addiction reaction! I think my doctor's post op 8 week ramp up back to 'normal' food (with no simple carbs) is partly to detox your system to get that out of your system... I have the same carb issue! Great vid! Thanks for posting.

  • sugar and all that processed crap is the DEVIL! I hear that! glad to hear that you feel better and got away from the bad stuff. never heard of the fast you speak of, but if it works for you that is GREAT! I think that WLS gives us the freedom to give us the opportunity to create a NEW normal. For me, I like to exercise, I enjoy the freedom and excitement from challenging my body. As you speak about your excess skin, it makes me think about me and exercise. that is my wealth for health.

THANK YOU-- brilliant perspective- and wisdom..as always! it is much cheaper for me to eat healthy- fresh sesonal Veggies, fruits and lentils, dals...etc are much cheaper than a chunk of hormone injected meat anyday! and we ARE NOT supposed to all e a size 00-4-even 6--or 8 Happiness is not a size and if we think it is we are going to be OCD about it for the rest of our lives. HEALTH and peace of mind should be our highest aim.

  • I'm SO glad you mentioned the Atkins thing. My mom did it, and ended up with all kinds of bruises, which were from that diet alone. It's NOT safe. Usually I don't protest diets, but after seeing that, I do. You've done a great job, and are an inspiration. Thank you! We're all different, just like you said, and we'll have different results, but as long as we keep focus, we'll end up where we need to be.

  • @chippery21 - with that said, I'm 1 1/2 years out, and have lost over 130 pounds. I've since become pregnant with our 3rd child. It's been the easiest pregnancy so far (history of Pre-Eclampsia.) To those that are looking the surgery, please RESEARCH it. I bugs the hell out of me when people think it's the "miracle cure". It's not. It's hard work, and if you've followed Kellawana's posts, you'll see. Stick to the diet. You can EASILY gain it back if you're not careful.

  • Thank you for being so honest...like always! It is so true about the processed food and sugar addiction. I read a study once where they got rats addicted to sugar and cocaine, independently. Then they gave the rats the option to choose either one and 9 times out of 10 the rats chose sugar over cocaine. That, in itself, says A LOT about what we humans go through with food. You are looking great and doing great. Another great video! Looking forward to the next one. Aloha...
