  • Watch out for snakes ;)

  • Can you believe it, on my holiday to england last year in the lake district there were RASBERRIES growing wild in a hedge. They looked so healthy and they were covered in fruit!

  • I heard that they are safe to eat after about 3-5 metres behind a think hedge row or line of trees, not 100% on that though. Great to put in a big pot and grow- they are very invasive and hard to get rid of in a garden but very nice!

I, like dionysusstar, sometimes pick them wild when it is summer. Great for smoothies too.

  • Blackberries where everywhere where I grew up...but now that I moved to a different state I realise they don't grow everywhere and it's strange. I'm glad that you can buy the small plants online and plant your own patch of non-wild blackberries that eventually go wild. The bushes definetly put out ALOT of berries for their size. Great fun to pick with kids too! There are also thornless varities which sound neat. Thanks for posting!
