The flags they are holding are the Shah's flag. In other words, these people are monarchists (Shahis), who are loyal to Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi (the King Fahad of his time) and his son. These demonstrations are just another way to end the Islamic Republic so the Shahis may return to Iran and live the wealthy lifestyles they had prior to 1979. In doing so, they would keep commoners as low as possible and rip off the people so. They are not true Iranians.

Actually the Lion, Sun, and Sword was not implemented in the Iranian Flag until Nader Shah Afshar, but was popular amongst the Qajars and the Pahlavis. Prior to the Afshars, we had the Safavids who used a lamb and a sun. During the Hakhamenshi (Achaemenids), it was some type of bird/falcon (I don't remember the name, but you can find it online).

Probably you don't remember the Mujaheddin attack on a bus that contained 192 Iranian civilians or the MKO's attacks on Ahvaz in Khuzestan about one to two years ago. The funny thing is that the U.S. supports the MKO because their philosophy is to destroy the government of Iran and replace it with their own ideology.

mojahedin never called for a mojahedin government of iran. you did not even bother to read the alternative plan of NCRI. national council of resistance calls for a non idealogic and religious government in iran where state and religions have no tie to each other. before commenting, bother yourself and read a little bit.
