Adroid's default email client, unless you are using Gmail, doesn't display HTML, doesn't pop user folders (via MS Exchange). This is really annoying! I'm using LG Optimus one.
Easy to Play - Difficult to Master - Impossible to Put down
Your objective in this fun physics game is to rotate your way through 20 challenging levels. To complete a level, roll your ball guy to the raindrop. Pay attention, as some levels require you to first collect a star in order to activate the exit point. Use the finger on the screen and move it in the desired direction
We have a lot of free games and apps for Windows Phone. Kindly search for us in Zune for the below: Rotate and Roll, World Art Museum, Flip Sexy Card, Ball Shooter, Go Fishing, Art Love, Knowledge Center, Sexy Girl Collection, Cut Sexy Girl
@Eclipsados01 yes it is, after all he is comparing the default e-mail applications of each operating system. Of course you can compare the different variety of e-mail apps on each device's market place, but that isn't the point of this video.
I'm sure this was addressed in another post, but just to note shipping WP7 supports HTML email, however the default setting is to not load pictures, and to tap to download. This default can be changed, but might be useful if you're on a limited data plan.
is it true that "priority" flag is not a standard and is related only to MS world (outlook/exchange) ? In fact Google mail does not implement priority, while it addresses the problem with "priority email" (way more complex solution)
I actually dislike Microsoft a lot but I actually love this new UI Microsoft came up with, to me it is more intuitive then iOS or Android. Still, iOS and Android are more complete OS's but I think I'll be able to live with some less functionality and have the Windows Phone UI because it really starts to get me excited. It's my thing, I guess... I still love the iPhone though ;-)
@redserpent7 I've only compared the Focus to the HTC Surround so far, but I have to say the Focus (which I now have) is clearly the winner. It's just a smoother sleeker design and it's got the same AMOLED the Samsung Galaxy S phones. It's also very light, and while it only comes with 8GB, it's expandable to 40G. Note however the memory expansion through MircoSD is a permanent expansion. In computer terms it spans the local volume, making one big drive.
Windows Phone 7 definitively shows more powerful options to E-mail. What you expect on a computer. Thought, I don't understand why selecting multiple messages as "unread" seems so important. Who does that ? Eventually select as "read", but unread ? There's an easy way to do this on the iPhone which this video fails to mention: you don't need to go back to the Inbox each time, there are two arrows (top-right) to jump from one message to the next, it's much easier.
First thing I notice is how the Windows Phone has such poor contrast. I suppose that will be corrected in the final version? Why show it until it is ready? And also I like the tone of voice when the Apple product is discussed... Apple can't seem to do anything right! and yet it seems obvious that it is the product that everyone else is playing catch-up to!! In any event it is good to see healthy competition in the market, but I will stick with the Apple product that defines this category.
In order for you to see the full HTML message you would have had to click on one of the empty spaces where a picture would be and then the message would upload. To find the Video search "Windows Phone 7 vs iPhone 4 HTML Mails", because it is not letting me post the link..
That was a particularly well delivered examination. Look forward to seeing your views when the final hardware & software for windows phone 7 are released.
by unified inbox, do you mean all your diff emails in one inbox? I would prefer it to be like mozillas thunderbird, I use various emails for different things... mainly to avoid the clutter, so I can easily click on a different email to check out that inbox :)
to be honest the e-mail client in WP7 is really well made .. until now i didn't like any thing about WP7 neither the design nor the functionality in anything but they really did a good job with the email client
the "its not a representation of the final product" talk is BS. you're telling me that in a couple months the entire software will be revamped? no. this is close to final software, or else they wouldn't be letting people like you play with it
@bozotheclown9 There are things they have to polish that might have been too buggy or just not all the way complete where it would function correctly, and I think that's what he means by "no representation of the final product" because he's comparing it to complete phones with complete consumer software. This is a developer phone.
It has HTML Mail support, please inform you before you say that it does not have a feature...you just need to load the pictures (Android has this disabled also by default)
Anyway, I would like to just point out a few things that you missed.
First, when you have multiple messages selected on Android, pressing the Menu button brings up more contextual options for all those messages, as well as a way to deselect all the messages with one button press.
And second, when composing an email on Android, pressing the back button will automatically save the message as a draft, there is no need for the extra steps.
Keep these comparison videos coming! I like what I see of WP7 and think that will be my next phone, but I enjoy being able to compare to the other options out there.
i love these comparison videos. as someone who had an iphone, left to android and very interested in wp7 these videos are awesome to see what to expect and if the jump is something to consider
gotta say wp7 looks like it's from the future and always holds its own.
@noodl34u He repeatedly mentioned that he wasn't using a final build of WP7 so there is a huge possibility of this being added to the final build. And I don't see a reason why not, it's pretty much a standard to have HTML email support. So no worries.
Another drawback of the WP7 I noticed here is the size of the font:
The last letter of the view name you are in is cropped a bit. Of course it's not hard to guess it says, for example, "flags" and not "flag" with God knows what attached to if, but it shouldn't be the way that the text of a native application doesn't fit the screen
@id88viper88id That's how the whole phone is, pretty much a copy of the Zune HD, where words are cut off. But you just have to swipe to the left or right to bring the whole word up. It's just a bit of originality and as with the Zune HD, its not too big a deal.
@TheDeadCPU You know what, something which is described as: "Oversize main-menu text recklessly rolling off the screen", doesn't fancy me a bit. It's not that I don't understand it, I pretty much dislike it.
@id88viper88id Mate this is part of the design, check some other WP7 videos and you will see it's consistengly missing as to tease you but also tell you what's next. If doesn't fit is displayed cropped. It's a design idea doesn't mean everyone likes it but it's different.
Its cut off to tell you that you have the option to scroll side to side. Without the cut offs, you would think you were staring at a lone screen. Its actually one of the most intuitive ways to allow a user to know there are more options. Its way more intuitive than the usual cryptic icons that only make sense once you tap them.

Actually you can attach a picture to an e-mail while in the middle of writing it.
You can switch to gallery (or whatever) and copy the picture to the e-mail.
(Go to gallery, select a picture, hold your finger on it, select copy, go back to e-mail app and select paste)
