Work with it as a refrigerant at work; fortunately the safety guidelines for ammonia are so strict that the alarms are sounding long before the situation becomes critical.
Hey Eric I really like how your live footage flashes into stills..that's really neat and adds a nice tone to the vid. Also, that scene with the guys in suits walking slow motion....awesome, reminds me of one of my fav scenes from ET. Check out this footage my g/f got outside her place of a huge fire that happened in my town just a few nights ago. (wish i was there with my camera :( but alas, I was not)
Wow, that sucks. They spill a whole tanker of the stuff? A train derailment? Or maybe a drunk truck driver in Moosejaw fell asleep at the wheel perhaps ;)lol
super!!
That's nasty stuff. I learned that the hard time a couple of times, but luckily no permanent damage.
Great video, but maybe I am a slow reader, but I found it hard to read the titles before they disappeared. Could just be me. It's the afternoon and I have been on the computer all day.
Sorry proto, yeah, the titles do go by a little quick but I prefer keeping them a litle shorter so that the whole of the piece doesn't run too long. At worst I figure the watcher can go back or pause it. So you worked with cooling systems as well?
I have worked many jobs and some of them involved working around coolant systems. I think I had about 50 jobs in Canada before I came to South Korea. Nice to finally have one where I get to use my brain.
I used to work on ammonia-based refrigeration systems with my old-man. He's told me some horror stories of what can happen when you have a leak. I'm happy to hear no one was hurt too bad. I like your lead-up to the story, it gives us a place to sit down and watch. The Haz-Mat guys reminded me of Plague Z lol! Out of curiosity, where do you work that uses ammonia refrigeration? You should be getting hazard pay! It used to scare the hell out of me maintaining that equipment.
I work in the rubber and vynil industry, and we are paid pretty well. I have been there for almost 10 years and it's the first time that has happened, I've had to put out a fire once and also look for part of a friends finger. Stuff is bound to happen when you work in such a big place...
Jeez , you most be some kind of color expert to know that, working in some kind of color creating laboratory, testing colors on little mammals and such ;)

three months back we all had to re-locate for a few hours in the middle of the night as there was a spill near us.
