  • Dude u forgot the rain fly

  • Seeing plastic party cups and no rain fly leads me to believe you were doing more drinking than thinking...

  • HILLARIOUS

  • Yeah do not use the stock rainfly I have the same tent works fine and use a bigger rainfly from Coleman to cover it.

  • Get the Coleman Instant Tent. Sets up in 1 minute and does not leak, even though there is no rain tarp. They have a patented Weather-Tec system that is designed specifically to keep rain out without a tarp.

  • honestly if I spend $200 on a tent I still wouldn't be confident in the rain without a tarp

  • I water proofed mine last year using seam sealer inside on all seams and outside with silocone spray , it rained for 12 hrs on a camping trip and not a drop of rain came in . I recomend doing that if going camping it pays off.

  • it cant be half as bad as mine it is one year old abd it leaks like no tomoro

  • Not putting on the rain fly and complaining you got wet is like sitting on your rain jacket and whining that your shirt is getting soaked . Worthless woman , stay home next time .

  • When camping carry a multi tool with pliers zippers are a easy fix. Next read the instructions it states about water proofing. And how to seal those seams Finally with the right attitude almost nothing can ruin a camping trip. I camped in the rain for a week and had a total blast!!!!

  • The only thing i have to complain about this tent is the zipper broke within the first 2 hours of having it up.

  • u get what u pay for and thats the philosophy of life lol

  • Ive been using my Ozark Trail tent for years. I had it in 50mph wind and rain and sure there are tents made of higher quality materials, but mu little 3 man tent took that licking and kept on kicking.

  • no rain fly dumb ass

  • Comment removed

  • No offense, but aren't you supposed to test camping equipment before you head out with it?

  • I lived in one of these for a year. What you do is set it up inside

a larger tent. Like my grandma always said "Layers are better

    protection.........jk

  • i LIVED in one of these for six months you wont have an problems if you spray it with silicone waterproofing takes a few hors to dry then a few more to air out but i buy nothing but ozark trails tents but i dont expose them to too terrable of conditions though i live in ohio so i can get away with buying a cheap tent and useing it for about five years

  • city boy i got this same tent and it does fine, you have to put a tarp over it, even most "water resistant" or "waterproof" tents leak. Its comon knowledge to put a tarp over it, even heavy dew at night will soak you. p.s Tent Sealer sucks it doesnt work for shit. besides what do you expect for $35?!! ;O

  • RETARD YOU DONT BUY CHEAPY WALMART TENTS

  • OZ tent.

    Buy an OZ tent...

  • You can also use seam sealer and make sure your tent placement is not in a drainage way

  • Tips:

    1. Any tent sold by Walmart is crap. All tents from Target are crap *except* those made by Kelty.

    2. Put on your rain fly and use a CORRECTLY fitted groundsheet.

    3. TEST your tent before using it- put it outside in the rain overnight, or at least pitch it and hose it down for 10 minutes.

    4. Any $30 tent new will be garbage. They're toys, and that's their intended use.

    5. Buy from stores with decent return policies- REI, Backcountry, Campmor, Cabela's, Gander Mtn.

    Good luck and have fun!

  • @ideologger This is just the kind of elitist attitude that deters weekend and casual campers from camping. You can make do with all kinds of cheap things. A "correctly" fitted groundsheet? Most backpackers don't even use one. A lot of backpackers don't use a tent either. Tarps are good. But who cares? The point was to get out and have fun. Not to buy relatively expensive gear for just a weekend outing. Drop that elitist attitude.

  • come on guys, use a rain fly!

  • Amateur campers

  • Yeah I got one of there junk tents and it coasted me 300.00 dollors and some of the damn poles were already broken when we took it out of the damn box. Now Iam stuck with a pice of junk. Don't buy a ozark Trail Tent they will not stand behind it. They are JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @cowgirlo99 uhh... Ozark Trail doesn't even make a tent that costs $300. I assume you mean $300 Pesos, Y300 Yen, or maybe $30 USD? If a pole was broken out of the box, take it back- that's true for just about ANYTHING you buy from a "real" store- if something is wrong with it out of the box, it is the retailer's problem. Ozark Trail is a Walmark label, so the obvious thing would have been to take it back to Walmart and get your money back or get a replacement.

  • Uh... you don't have the rain fly on, of course it's going to leak. Is this a joke or something? LOL

  • why dont you have the rain fly on

  • Comment removed

  • @darkpal123 The Poles are known to break for almost no reason lol

  • Camped at a float stream campsite next to a couple of guys with an Ozark Trail tent, one of the ones in the Cub Scout color motif. Anyway, came a torrential thunderstorm that first night and they could not get the O.T. tent door to zip shut. After 15-20 minutes, they and their gear were soaked and the two ended up spending a sleepless night in their minivan. Personally, I would never buy a tent that came with a fly smaller than my umbrella.

  • It completely ruined you Memorial Day camping trip because you were not prepared. No where in the nomenclature provided with this tent does it say "waterproof"! This tent has provided outstanding shelter for me and my 10year old son on numerous backpacking/hiking trips throughout Northern California through wind, rain and sweltering heat. The rain fly worked perfectly for us on a three night, winter hike to the top of Mount Saint Helena (4,342').

  • @SuperFr8train Actually on the packaging of my tent which is the same model, it does say 'waterproof'. Please do not be such a jerk to others. It wasn't because the poster was unprepared. It is reasonable to assume a tent will not leak (especially not profusely), and this tent has been an awful experience for me. Even with a tarp, water still seeped in from the bottom. There's a difference between being prepared for problems, and being prepared to deal with a useless tent.

  • @cheez150 If your tent leaked from the bottom even with a groundsheet, you are doing it wrong, probably because your groundsheet is poorly fitted.

They weren't prepared, no buts about it. That doesn't mean that Ozark Trail tents don't suck- they do, and everyone knows it. A $30 tent will leak in the rain, especially if you don't have a rain fly or groundcloth, and haven't taped/sealed the seams! It sucks that Wally sells crap, but 10 minutes w/ Google would've told you all you needed to know.

  • @ideologger not all tents have options for fitted ground sheets. Most cheap tents don't need it because they have a heavier material built on the bottom. The need for a groundsheet for the higher end is due to the light duty materials. Yeah, they're lightweight and good for backpacking, but you need a groundsheet to prevent moisture penetration from the ground under it. Once again, drop the elitist attitude. A tarp under a tent, even if it's not fitted, works just fine. Worked in my early yrs

  • i have a Coleman tent and a Ozark trail and i made my Ozark trail tent and i sewed a tarp in the in side and there we go no rain but that is a back up tent my Coleman is my man tent

  • @MrSurvivorskills i meant to say i made water proof by sewing a trap my bad

  • That's what happened to my Ozark Trail tent!

    Never again!!

  • put the rai fly on mine was in a storm so bad you coulnt see a thing and it was completley dry

  • I've used this tent through some crazy thunderstorms never leaked on me.

  • I have this same tent and as long as you put the rain fly on BEFORE it starts to rain there shouldnt be any leaks. lol

  • Allrighty.... I have had this exact tent for about two solid years... now each season I go camping aproxomitly 10 to 15 times, now each trip will last a minnimum of 4 days and three nights so you can see Im well aware of the camping prospect. I have put this tent through HELL and not a single leak tear scratch or pole break.... So ya put the fucking rain fly on its the tarp like thing that keeps rain out.... fuck stupid ass

  • i've had a leaky tent before, nothing will ruin your day quicker than waking up in a puddle of water. i agree with anyone that says ozark trail tents suck. i've never owned one and never will. i've seen them used several times. they are cheaply built. i only buy coleman tents. i know there are better tents but they also cost alot more. i've never had a coleman tent leak. i always put a tarp between the tent and the ground. just my two cents. thanks for sharing.

  • I had a ozark trail tent find it to be decent but then again I used it indoors

  • @coker10 fag

  • jusst dont by shit from walmart end of story

  • Rain fly? Anyone?

  • how about just not using a tent?

  • Maybe one of your drunk buddies pissed all up in your tent.

  • Did you water proof it? If you don't all tents leak.... You know they sell the waterproofing spray at walmart too. (btw, not being a smart ass just a friendly tip.)

  • BS. Crap tents leak.

  • or in my opinion dont buy ozark trail tents because i bought alot of tents by ozark trail they leak alot.

  • dont worry dude.... i have dat same problem wen i was camping.

  • you must be a city person its O K we will talk you through it 1 st //Put your rain fly on

if still leaking put a tarp on it . see that wasent very hard >>>>>>>>>>>.Or next time pay ten dollars more an get a coleman or swissgear

  • @greendayrockstar one hudred% right

  • @greendayrockstar I have a Ozark Trail 5 person tent and I put the rain fly on and a tarp over that and it worked great. It poured all and I stayed dry the whole night.

  • why in the world would you expect a $30 tent to not leak??? when the rain comes you cover the tent with a tarp!

  • I have the exact same tent, my daughter uses it. We bought the sealer which is recommended for most tents and we have never had a problem

  • Your rainfly isnt on good enough, and your supposed to buy this one shit that water proofs the seams, its right by the tents in walmart. its called like seam sealer. I have the same tent and it doesnt leak.

  • is it a paste or something, what are the seamn i wana buy a tent o caping??
