@kristllrox It's a little different from full and empty. It lets you choose which direction to spin it and how much represented with a positive or negative decimal (the first slider), and it also lets you choose how large the area of swirl you want to be (second slider). There's also a graph (a box) that lets you choose where the swirl will be.

If so, check that and it will only be the horizontal that should show up because then it will be the same amount for each. "Amount" is the first slider I was talking about. You don't click a button for the pan/crop. You just do... Do you remember how to pan/crop a video? The same principles apply to panning effects.
On the top left of the toolbar, click "Project". It should be the first one. A list should show up - go down and select "Render As..." after you have saved your file. There should be a window that popped up. Where it says "Save as type:" choose from the scroll down list *.wmv and save it.
It might take a while to render (to put together, in case you didn't know), but it'll be able to upload to YouTube after that as long as you choose the *.wmv file.
@kristllrox Oh, file and project are the same thing. Mine says project since I have Vegas Movie Studio PE 9.0, but it's basically the same concept. As long as you have the render as option, the rest from there should definitely be the same.

@kristllrox Oh, that's not NewBlue FX, it's a test pattern called "Gradient". I used that under the clip and added the effect "Mask Generator" with "Luminance Mask" to the the top clip. It should look similar, but I added another effect to make it flash.
The light is actually called "Spotlight" from the group "Bump Map", and I moved it around on the stage and the timeline so it could look the way I made it.
@kristllrox Gradient is in the media generators. The Mask Generator is a group from Video FX and Luminance Mask is an effect in it.
I panned for the spin. Do you know how to pan? If you don't, you can right click on a clip to get to pan/crop. You can spin it by marking one box onto the timeline at the beginning and another at the end. You can change the angle on the last one either by turning the circle around the box you made, or by changing the number that says "Angle:" to a multiple of 360.
@foggerman1234 Well I'm not sure what you mean by moving the squares to the end of the timeline. I right clicked and Then I moved one of the rhombas square thingys to the end and one at the beginning. But after I do that, then what? Do I save it? My clip still isn't spinning.
@kristllrox Did you rotate your second one to 360 degrees? You should play it back and check. If not, maybe you entered the number for your angle in the wrong place, or you put the same degree on both boxes.

I put the box on top to 720 degrees, which is 360+360, and the bottom box has nothing at all to do with degrees, So I just don't even know. Oh and also the box on top is at the end of the timeline.
