  • My school just did this musical, and i have to say, i think our Beast sang this just as well

  • I love this song so much! The music is beautiful, especially around 2:17 when it uses the theme from the prologue! :D

  • 113 beauties and no Gaston, why is the spell not broken yet? 8\

  • His range is incredible. The first time I heard this I was so shocked thinking he was purely a bass and then he shot off in to the sky with the ending notes. Beautiful song, beautiful vocals, beautiful show.

  • @memc2797

    Make that six :'D

  • 4 times in a row already?

  • wow. that was amazing.

  • if someone dares to dislike this video i'll punch them...

  • And they said a ninth grader couldn't sing this...well, at my school, he did, but not even close to being as good as this!

  • I recently performed as the Beast in my high schools production of this show. There is no feeling like this song. Its so evocative, and the music alone makes me feel the agony of my character. The final night it moved me to the point where I was actually crying while singing this song. I have never experienced anything like this.

  • I was beast in my high school musical. This was by far my favorite song to sing right before intermission. Really got me excited after that last part hearing the crowd clap.

  • Oh man I remember this 1994 version on stage and it always stuck with me. Oh man my friends never saw this broadway version and oh geeez I know defenitly have to make them listen to this song on the beast singing. They only saw movie of beast not singing :(

  • Who plays the Beast?

  • @MegaSupergirl45 Terrence Mann!!! The best broadway performer ever!!!!!!!!!!! haha

  • @MegaSupergirl45 Terrance Mann

  • man i wish they put this song in the special edition of the disney movie...he needs more songs

  • so beautiful i love this song so much it makes me cry everytime. this is the on show that makes me cry everytime i see it no matter where (Disney, High School shows, Broadway)

  • @mochamegan123 im a townsperson but i also sing the enchanted objects songs backstage because we can't fit all the ensemble on our stage but we still want to sound as good as possible.

  • my school is doing this for our spring musical, and i must say while very few people can match terence mann, i think our beast comes close :) we're going to have an awesome show, and rehearsal starts tomorrow!

  • @Vhdiesintheend what part are you? or are you backstage?

  • I love this song! :) <3

  • best. disney. broadway. song. ever.

  • we did Beauty and the beast and because it was just before the interval we would go outside and stand right outside where the stage was and listen to this song. I cried every time he was really good.

  • goodness gracious, i love tim rice to death. he just knows exactly what to say and how to say it!

  • Soooo I decided to join my school's drama organization this year instead of rugby, and I was cast as the Beast for our spring musical. Words cannot express how excited I am to sing this song. I just hope I can do it justice.

  • I saw this in 1996 or something like that, when I was a boy. And he sang all of this in his little tower with the rose, then at 2:39 - 2:55 the tower spun around and he was outside on the balcony. Then he belted that really powerful part while standing on the rail and he brought the house down. Well now it's coming back to Portland and I'm taking my girlfriend and hope it's just as great.

  • I have this gaston and me for auditions. Gonna be fun! Lol. I can't even compare to this guy. It's like Josh groban mixed with the Canadian tenors. Lol

  • Have to perform this, Me, Gaston, and Be Our Guest in the same day for auditions

    . Whoo boy haha

  • The Beast is a Baritone i think(The songs range if i remember right is B-f'). The singer is a baritone.

  • I'm surprised the Beast is a tenor. You'd think, based on the fact he's a large beast, he'd be a bass. I guess that further emphasizes the moral of not judging based on appearence.

  • I went to my alma matter's production of Beauty and the Beast last month and their beast was simply amazing (I'd done choir and vocal jazz with him a few years back and I still did not see his voice coming) and it was my favorite scene both times I went (the production was heavily double casted and my best friend was sharing the role of Babette so I had to go twice to see her once as a silly girl and once as Babette)

  • My high school performed Beauty and the Beast and I just saw it last night. Oh, gosh, it was beautiful :) When the Beast sang this song, I swear some of the audience was crying. I was crying on the inside.

  • Our high school did Beauty and the Beast and our Beast was a very good Elvis impersonator. He actually did an amazing job!! Favorite song of his. :D

  • I love this song sooo much

  • Guys try the Italian version "Se Non So Amarla", it's just as sad and touching as this version!

  • @DavMawey Con tutto che la versione italiana mi piace...non è bella quanto questa, sorry XD

  • Terrence Mann sings this song..... and I must say..... he is PERFECT for the part of the beast! His voice is so enchanting :) I really wish this production was still running!

  • Terrence Mann? Wasn't he Chauvlin in The Scarlet Pimpernel?

  • @i9love5crete1 Why yes, yes it is ;)

  • i can't stop listening to this!

    It's so freaking amazing!

  • You guys need to find the Korean Version. He NAILS it.

  • @whiteash002

sry dude, but nobody can do it as terrance mann.

saw him live at broadway and that performance was beyond epic...

  • @MeeGozh I prefer the Korean one if only for the sheer emotion in it. That's all. :)

  • @MeeGozh OMG THAT'S TERRANCE MANN??? HE PLAYED THE BROADWAY RUM TUM TUGGER!!!

  • this is beyond beautiful.

  • My theatre group had our launch for our production of Beauty and the Beast the other evening in a local hotel and our Beast sang this song and every time he said "Love" he looked over to our Belle and started smiling.. We all started giggling but after we found out he was actually looking at our director who was behind Belle and she was mouthing the words to him :P

  • The most saddest and intense song EVER! I love it. I love how the stage version focuses more on the Beast's plight, becuase it is really sad.

  • @9claudiajenssen Shame the movie didn't. Then it would've won Best Picture for sure!

  • @9claudiajenssen Most saddest?

  • @9claudiajenssen ...most saddest. -_-'
