lm asuming that in its infancy,taiko was also a martial art,behind this hundreds of years tradition of the japanese drumming warrior,looks to me like an army of these guys wouldve been a lot to handle for invading war parties,,discipline,patience,c­ontrol all those things,,monks monastery,go faster grass-hopper!!! go faster!!! grass-hopper was chinese!! lol!!!

A totally amazing performance! What is amazing is the performers' stamina, as they are involved in 15 straight minutes of very strenuous activity! They are as much athletes as performers. I love taiko so much -- it's something you listen to with your whole body, not just your ears! (It takes me back to when I lived in Nagoya and heard the taiko club practice outside our classroom window around lunchtime...)

I lived in Japan for over 5 years. I saw several of these drum troops perform. They are always amazing and spectacular. It's unfortunate for the inconsiderate coughing.
