I don't see what the big deal is.. yes it may be faster but why should i get a blue ray player when I have my PS3? That involves spending more money! We Americans are cheep bastards! Also the PS3 and Xbox 360 are about matched up. They both have pros and cons.If I want to watch an AVI file on my 360 I have to hook up my flash drive to the 360. On the PS3 though, I can just save the video to the HDD.. I wish Sony would have made a party chat though. Also wish we could listen to music and play!

so what if the bluray player loads faster. its still has the same content if played on PS3. a few seconds of waiting wouldnt hurt. plus you get an HD game player, an internet device and an 320HDD in one package and its more expensive than bluray players, although its already five years old, its still an ass kicking technology. i used to watch movies on PC but i can only play games on PS3.

Boot time has nothing to do the ps3 has a hdd to boot and can do 3d. Even if it's 720p it looks amazing due to the fact that most games on the PS3 are in 720p and still look better than an Xbox running it at 1080p

@rpe33 Check the specs out and compare the 360 and PS3. The Xbox does have a "little" bit better upscale when it comes to 720p games being played on a 1080p TV. To me both systems look good on a 1080p TV. I'm ready to see the next generation of consoles.. I want to see all games being made played in native 1080p. Hopefully in 2012 or 2013 we will see that happen :D

The graphics are the same on both when it comes to third party because theyrr developed for the 360 then ported to the ps3 because its more cost efficient. The only games you will see it shine is LA Noire, FFXIII and one other title which were developed on the ps3 then compressed to be put in 3 DVDs

I suppose the br player would be faster just because thats that its made for, The PS3 is still more powerful (and has to boot a hard drive and load all the drivers whereas the player will have a smaller flash memory and not have to run any drivers or other hardware) AND as a bonus you can play games on the PS3... so as they are like the same price it makes more sence to get the PS3

I have both. I like the slot loader on the PS3. The S570 makes a lot of noise during disk operations, but then so does the PS3's fan. The PS3 is still twice the cost, so if you are not into gaming, the S570 is a great, and compact, player. It's about time this series *INCLUDES* the Wi-Fi for a cost under $200!

My ps3 just quit working after 3years. i only play 360 games coz they look better, brighter and 360 GAMES have a better sound (in my opinion i have 7.1surround) I'm considering swap ps3 for just a top notch Blu-ray player but im not 100% sure coz Ps3 does a good job with video and the Blu-ray competition doesn't really offer a better video, I think just a boot time is better.

I think a majority of the people here are missing the point. This isn't a video to BASH THE PS3, it's showing you how friggin fast the newer Sony Blu Ray players really are. The PS3 has always been one of the faster players available so it's a great test. The other thing nobody talks about is menu/function responsiveness. The PS3 is stellar when you FF,RW,Pause, etc and so is the BDP-S570 - it's glorious.

i work for Sony and this is kinda off topic but still, i'm here to tell you guys that the only reason the ps3 had better graphics is because of the blu ray player! if there was no blue ray player the xbox 360 would either be exactly as good as the ps3 or even slightly better depending on the xbox model. The ps3 blue ray player ties into the cpu in a way which enhances it with upgraded video technology.

I own a BDP-S570 and I've been having problems with it and Sony Support is useless. The Blu-ray player is fine, works great. But if you want to use a wireless setup it's a pain in the ass. Sony couldn't help me hook it up to my new Netgear, I did get it finally to work. But most importantly, if you plan on using Netflix or Hulu Plus expect problems. My player always freezes and I'm not the only one, look up the model # and netflix problem to see all the complaints. The new update didn't fix it.

@aotayde2 I have the first gen PS3 and the upscale quality is better than my first gen Toshiba HDDVD player I got for $75 a couple years back if that helps. The quality is great on both but the PS3 seems to have less grain and more smooth detail. It's also waaaay faster. Both the first gen Blu-ray and first gen HDDVD players both took about 1 or 2 minutes to boot.

This year's Bravias are the sweetest looking Sony TVs yet.

I can now recognise the LX by the silver strip along the bottom edge. The HX appears to have much better black performance. It looks very impressive.

I've had my Sony CRT for 5 years and have yet to see an LCD to convince me to upgrade. The XBR 9 (or 45) came very close.

If the HX delivers with picture quality and price, my bank account may be taking a hit this year. :)

@masticina Actually Blu-Ray was never gonna be re-released until Sony took The offer and installed the drive to the PS3. So in reality the PS3 has Blu-Ray 2.0. I did some research on this subject about a year ago, Blu-Ray was getting beat by the HDDVD until the PS3 rolled out with its new blu-ray 2.0 and completely stole the HD movie department from HDDVD
