I am from Austria, I watch the Perseids every year at the end of august. You must need much patience, I remember, after midnight are the most one. The best place to watch such a meteorit-shower is on the countryside, desert, mountains. In or even in the near of a town or village you can`t see it. One time I was watching the stars in the Sahara desert - this is a great place for star observing. The Atacama desert or Haiwaii are the best places.

i live in South Carolina and in october last year there was a meteor shower but i didnt get to see it because of cloud cover

I remember once when I was in the military, I saw a meteorite that covered at least from 80degrees all the way down to almost 0degrees, I am almost sure that thing hit the ground. It was amazingly beautiful, it was so big it left a tail of smoke..no lying folks.

I didn't see anything on the "best" night to see the Perseids shower a few days ago... But i was out looking for 20 minutes tonight and saw the best meteor i've ever seen. It literally lit up the sky it was so bright. A huge white streak across the sky. It took my breath away.

I have a wierd kind of luck when it comes to seeing meteors, it's like I look at the sky just in the right time and at the right spot. So I have seen a lot of them, but the most beautiful one was during the perseids, just a few nights ago actually. Something I recommend everyone to do; stay up late, and watch the night sky, it's worth it. I'm going out again in a bit, bringing a blanket, some hot chocolate and then I'm off to the nearest fotball-field :)

I only saw one meteor on wednesday night :( but I have seen hundreds of shooting stars over my life :P. and I have seen 1 fireball. I was amazing it was huge. I though it was a fire work at first, and when I was 6 I remember my parents pointing out a comet to me (haleys comet) but I was to young and was looking at something else lol

Oh you people. Don't be fooled by the media. They want you to think it's meteorites. The real truth is there are barriers in the stars that prevent Jinns from trying to get close to Heaven. The Jinns are 9 x bigger than the Human population. They have really fast speed and they can also fly. When they try to get close to heaven they get flames thrown at them, as a result shooting far back. This is actually an assault of the Jinns trying to infiltrate Heaven. Star Wars eh!!!

I live in NC and i remember back in the very early 90's my mom and i saw a shower unlike anything i have ever seen. It lasted pretty much all night and it looked like God was shooting roman candles across the sky!

They were so close that as god as my judge you could hear them as they went across the sky! A once in a life time experience for sure.
