Well... if you have the wii or ps2 versions, there's no character creation for them.

you should be able to find out very easily if you do and the wii and ps2 ones dont have character customization options

I used a Pinnacle Studio Suite on my laptop and captured about 20-30 45 second clips directly from my Xbox. Then mixed and trimed them all in Pinnacle.

can Pinnacle Studio Suite record anything from the xbox and do you need any special cables or?

You need some sort of Video Capturing Device. I used the USB Pinnacle Movie Box + Pinnacle 11 Ultimate. The movie box takes DV/S-Video/Composite Video and Stero Audio. I hooked the Xbox cables directly to the Moviebox, Moviebox USBs to the computer...DONE!

We spent an hour playing around with the "face paint" feature. We tried tons of different layers and tons of different tattoos, mixing and such. After lots of trial and error, coloring, layering, warping,that's the final product. There's 3-4 layers there that make up the entire piece. For example, the nose ridge is tattoo called Tooth I think. We repeated it like 10 times larger to smaller down the nose. The forehead wrinkles are a combo of 3-4 other tattoos and colors.

We origianlly had Data in there. However, there's absolutely no hair style that fits Data in RockBand. Plus, he's so plain, he basically ended up looking like a really pale white guy. With Picard already being pretty simple, we wanted to keep up the variety.
