Here it runs on both, Vista and Win7. Sometime's you'll need to help a little bit with tweaks in the Glide Wrapper I'm using (Zeckensacks Glide Wrapper), and Microsoft's Compatibility Toolkit, which you can download for free. Try it with this both App's, I was successful in running NFS 2 SE, NFS3 and NFS4 with Glide perfectly in Win Seven.

@NoVideoxD Try Sandboxie software. It's virtual machine, which basically serves as "OS in OS". I use it for Win 98 'cause it is compatible with 95% of old games that I can't use on Windows 7.... Google for more details about it...

You could try to run it with an PS emulator. Just Google "playstation emulator" !

I got one that runs completly under Vista 6 Win 7. Under Win Vista I can even play it with my wireless PS3 controller. That rules :)

@NoVideoxD you can run it on Vista but you need to copy all the files off the CD to your hard drive manually. The installer no longer works in Vista. Someone made a Vista edition patch - Google it. Once you've got the patch you can drag the nfs.exe icon to a program that forces it to use only one CPU core (i.e. only 1 core in a dual core system) and it will run as per usual.

I don't really know if it's techno or hardcore, but in the game, you can choose between 2 categories of music : "Rock" or "Techno".

If you play on the Rocky Pass' track with "Techno music" chosen, this song will be played.

That's why I've written "techno" in the description ;)

There are some parts of the song missing! Like the Rockypass Cliffside music which is missing the last stage of the music, which should start at 2:42. I always thought that the music on Rocky Pass's cliffside sounds a lot like an Indian going abobobobobobo! It kind of suits the track. Almost makes you feel like you're a speeding Indian going down the mountain cliffside at 195mph.

Ole esta musica me trae buenos recuerdos cuando manejaba en Rocki Pass. Cuando era un principiante en este juego esta era la pista más dificil (todo el tiempo me volcaba en la parte más rápida donde hay un hueco, y me hacía volar) apenas tenía como unos 10 añitos; pero ahora es una de mis favoritas y vale la pena romper la vuelta record en esta pista!

I know what's missing, 4:20 to 4:57 is what you hear on every lap on The Summit but the last, the last lap played at the same part of the track (where you just leave the Rocky Pass area on the mountain) is missing, and that's the best part of the song, imo,

Oh yeah, Summit. I had trouble evading the cops on that track for awhile. In fact, one day, I almost won the race in a Yellow Corvette C5 but was arrested right on the last lap on the jump before the start/finish line.

Well, I've managed this with software called GAP, the files are coded into mus files...those are 22kHz sound files constructed slightly like mod files, simple samples and map of repeats, the software is able to export group of the waves, because I'm using linux os, basic soft for managing multiple wave files is here (wavmerge), with that I was able to join them into one wav file...which after upsampling is excellent material for creating good quality ogg file.
