  • Je te veux. "I want you."

  • pretty f**kin beautiful

  • youtube, why would you ever think I'd like to buy a car when I'm just here to enjoy some damgood music?

  • @haricotsvert Right on! What computer algorithm thought I would have any interest in Call of Duty? I'm here to expand my mind, not pollute it with commercials and violence.

  • quand je n'etais qu'un enfant, ma mere me disait toujours que mon pere etait fou et qu'il me detestait. Mais quand j'ai grandi un petit peu j'ai realisé que c'etait elle qui etait folle!

  • Ah!, la belle époque!

  • There is a hidden sadness to this song, i feel so sad its awkward.

  • Started this on guitar recently; one of my top three Satie pieces!

  • What is Up?

  • @Gatorguy006 you mean Up sounds 'like' Satie..

  • My mom brings me here

  • The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi brought ME here.

  • @HaimeDesu :/

  • Binary Land =)

  • When I was young, I was told: 'You'll see, when you're fifty.' I am fifty and I haven't seen a thing. -Erik Satie

i thought i should share this interesting quote i found.

  • Beautiful indeed very very beautiful

  • I'm walking in Paris when I listen to this.

  • @Naudins no, no, in Honfleur!

  • Michael Giacchino must have been inspired by Satie.

  • So beautiful..so, beautiful

  • this is just.... Satie.... divine.....

  • Exquisite

  • great taste, junky ;)

  • SO BEAUTIFUL

  • per una bambina che odia i bambini che non sanno colorare***A.dM:

  • la bellezza è un respiro indefinito in un tempo infinito cit A D M:

  • Binary Land

  • ilove this music <3

  • It think you have to play the song with a Sostenutopedal, is this right?

  • binary land!! EEeEEeeEEeeEEeEeeEeEeeeeEEEEE!!!

  • peaceful

  • It's very hard to play "je te veux" on the piano ...

  • @kriegszar indeed

  • @kriegszar Is this true or are you being ironic?

  • @cosmicpalmtrees True! I've started to play piano just in the spring.

  • magnifique :)

  • Je te veux = I want you

  • I was brought here by a famicom game called binary land

  • @leppaberry Me too! ;-) The Binary Land music is a very beautiful version of this song.

  • The beggining of this song reminds me Amélie Poulain, but I don't remember the exact name of the soundtrack's song.

Did anyone else think this music has something in common with some Tiersen's?

Please, if you did, can answer me telling what's the name of the song? (:

  • @SweetLittleLala you are right, Satie must have influenced large numbers of musicians - specially minimalists- including composer of Amelie Poulan's movie Yan Tiersen. watch?v=wCTW_IfZzTE

  • @zatariahmad Thank you. (:

Oh, by the way, I saw your youtube channel and I liked it a lot, your favorite songs are very interesting, there's a lot of them that I did not know and I thought they are very good.

May I invite you as a friend?

  • @SweetLittleLala my pleasure :)

  • @SweetLittleLala

Is it me or does this person look like an aged version of Yann tiersen? Try hiding the beard, I could see very close resemblance. If anybody else sees it too, then perhaps Erik has reincarnated now as Yann Tiersen.... Anybody?

  • magnificat...

  • Awesome. No more to say.

  • Satie started as a pop composer and this was his most successful song. The stuff people remember came from later.

  • no puedo creer que esto sea de Erik Satie..... el compositor mas triste y oscuro de la historia, uno de los mas

  • @Artemusicstring es la verdad :)

  • Binary Land!

I luv this song since i was 5 years old :')

  • This is somthing you'd hear at some carnival and go "wow, this is actually a very good song"

  • @sweetsweetcan One of those moments, Tis have better to have loved and lost than to have never have loved at all.

  • Maeckes

  • mcks!

  • I think the theme in Up sounds like this.

  • MGritts is correct. It sounds like the theme of UP because they're both waltzes. You hear that "oom pah pah" thing going on in both of them.

  • @DivineSora01 and also because of the chromaticaly descending left hand

  • i know this music from a very old atari game

  • @monroekissedme Perhaps Binary Land?

  • @Gatorguy006 Just because it's a waltz doesn't make it anything like the theme to Up

  • possibly the most underrated composer in history

  • @NesGamer105 Yes, and Mozart the most overrated.

  • @NesGamer105 Wow, you know him so as many many people who also like his music, so i wouldn't say it.

  • @NesGamer105 he is widely recognized, but if you still think that's not enough, I understand

  • relaxing

  • sublime

  • the kind of music you want to grab and hold onto

  • what a pretty piece

  • Anybody else think this sounds like the theme in Up?

  • @Gatorguy006 indeed :3 you mean "Married Life"?

  • @Gatorguy006 You mean does the theme from Up sound like Je te Veux?

  • @Gatorguy006 or the theme in up sounds like Satie

  • @Gatorguy006 Yes. Yes I do. But I'm not surprised, because the theme in up was supposed to sound like a certain era...such as the one that Satie lived in.

  • @Gatorguy006 no different key....

  • @Gatorguy006 haha thaht s the first thing that came into my mind, even before reading your comment, I totally agree!!!

  • @Gatorguy006 No. The theme in Up sounds like this.

  • This is so pretty! ^_^ i love it!! :)

  • is this the normal speed? its definately faster than any interpretation ive heard. but sounds good

  • up main theme is stolen from this:P

  • mr. nobody brings me here

  • I so love this piece and its play on Borodin, my socks melt and my heart skips and the glint in his eye is perfect.

  • it`s a very famous song!!!

i knew the song for long long time ago.....

but never knew it name is "je te veux" XD

  • Satie, Oh Satie...

  • Possibly a little too fast to capture the romance of the piece...though that may just be me. :p

  • There was a rumor that he owned nine identical grey velvet suits....and wore nothing else...but this was from the memories of the artist Toulousse-Lautrec.

  • @Nrthnmaverick (I hope you understand my "english language...") I have read that Satie apparently dressed always the same green suit, but when Satie died his friends found in his room twenty identical green suits. The argentine rock group Serú Girán have a song called "20 trajes verdes" (twenty green suits), composed by Charly Gracía, a big satie fan. (Search for "12/18 Veinte Trajes Verdes - Charly García 'La Venganza' Julio 2004" )

  • @Lyktwz It is funny how twenty identical green suits, can become...nine identical grey velvet suits...errors like that usually point to an indiscretion..(a secret)...or a character assessment perhaps... A "moon man" is a figure of English folk-lore, a man with nine cloaks of (grey or) ash, a ghostly but harmless figure.

Thank you for the references and the twenty green suits.

  • @Lyktwz genius!

  • Compared to the rest of his stuff, this piece is bullshit. I totally understand why he called it a "rough shit".

  • great music, beautiful!!! I can not understand how is possible that people dont know Satie much.....

  • 結婚式、新郎新婦入場のBGMに合いそうな曲♪

  • he was an excentric, he wrote much of the most beautiful songs

    an artist

  • love this !!

  • nice ! ;)

  • Thanks potassium
