@vfktikipindude That was an invalid argument. DL only got a new daytime parade because they didn't have one. And if you knew what you were talking about you would know that the Fantasyland expansion costs just as much as the DCA expansion. The Tomorrowland makeover; rumor. And who said that DL was getting a new parade next year? You don't know your facts.

The only reason the parade is down in Florida right now is so they can refurbish The Spectromagic Parade and for Summer Nightastic in WDW it will be back to California after the holidays at somepoint in January. That's also why World of Color there for everyone to enjoy I have only seen it in video and wished I could go see....heck I wish I could go to California's Disney....but my mom says we would fall in the Earth in California.....oh well LOL :)

Why not have it be performed in both parks like how it was prior to 1996 or 1992. If every one loves the parade so much it should be left untouched and in its proper places, at WDW and Disneyland. Why cant Disney listen to what people want for once and bring the parade back to Main Street where it belongs!

Don't know if that will be happening because California's parade is being shipped to WDW's Magic Kingdom at least for the summer. We'll have to wait and see if it's included.

@Disneydanny YES IT IS COMING BACK! I am proudly to say that The Main Street Electrical Parade will make its way down Main Street U.S.A starting in June! Disney announced this yesterday afternoon. With this we will get a new firework show. It is what was at the Pirate and Princess Party in 2007 and 2008. I cannot remember the title but I'm sure you can find it. There will be two new floats this year. Snow White will have her own and Pinocchio! Sadly its only on vacation here for summer..

I think there was a typo in that press release unless some of the floats are staying in California there are actually 4 new floatsthat haven't been seen in Florida: Tinkerbell, Pinocchio (2 units) & the Diamond mine. i've also heard that while it was not in the parade last year the Circus units got the same LED upgrades as the other units but IDK if they'll be in Florida or not

Hi! Well I got the info from the Disney parks blog. Um sorry, I dont understand what you mean.... You said, "Disney back in Ca. Disneyland. what year June when." Well I'll try and answer as best as I can! :) Well this was announced hmmmm, I dont remember the exact date but I think it was February 2010. Maybe March. Or January. Something like that. And the Main Street Electrical Parade has been running at Walt Disney World since June 6th 2010.

@baacookie1 Ok, heres a response to finish what I just said. Well anyway. The MSEP was to run at WDW only from June 6th to August 14th. That was for Summer Nightastic. Well, disney decided to keep the MSEP at WDW for a while longer so its still there now. I haven't been able to find the date for the last run but I think it will stay until the end of the year. Then the parade will go back to DL. We used DL floats you know. So I hope this helped you! If you have anymore questions you can ask!

I can confirm it! I just finished reading about it (literally 15 minutes ago) at the Orlando Sentinal website. It starts in June of this year and runs the entire summer. They're also making changes to the Magic Kingdom's fireworks and they're changing the drop sequence to Tower of Terror. Exciting! :-)

Most of the units from Florida were used in France from 1992 til 2003. The only change they made to it was the French version didn't use the To Honor America Unit but added the Swan Lake unit from Japan. As far as the other units from Disneyland, they were used for promotional units i.e. the 25th Anniversary unit and the Return To Oz unit. Others like the Briney Deep unit, Small World and the Neon Light units were pulled from the parade all together.

Nope, WDW pulled the plug by 1992 for it to be performed in Paris, why you remember it by 2000 is because it came back to WDW to welcome in the new Millennium for a 3 year run from 1999 til 2001

No, my mother has video evedence of the main street electrical parade from the 70s in WDW. And so do I. It may have been in Disneyland at the same time as the wdw one, but not there first.

if it was in the late 70's that would make sense. When it first came to Disneyland in '72 the parade had 2 Dimensional floats. that version ran until '74. when it came back in '77 (which was the same year it premeired in Florida) the entire parade was in 3d

1971 was when the Electrical Water Pageant premeired at WDW, 1972 the Main Street Electrical premeired at Disneyland first then at WDW in 1977, watch my other video about the electrical parade it will give you the history about it up until 1986.

@emmcheer27 The Electrical Parade from WDW never moved to Disneyland. The WDW version premiered in 1977 simultaneously with Disneyland's updated 3-D version. WDW's ran until 1991, when it was moved to Disneyland Paris. Disneyland's ran until 1996, when it moved to WDW, where it ran from 1999 to 2001. That parade moved back to California Adventure in 2001, and it is again moving back to WDW this year. The original WDW version ended in Paris in 2003 and is rumored to be in storage in Hong Kong.

I personally think that all disney parks should have a separate electrical parade or at least have three parks with it so people don't have to criss cross the world/U.S. to see one. Plus I liked the one from Walt Disney World

To appreciate the parade, you must love synthesizers, like I do. Did they use Moog synths making this song?

Don Dorsey's version is what we hear today at California Adventure's version of the parade, he used these synthesizers to create the soundtrack: Moog Model III, Mini-Moog, Steiner-Parker Synthacon, Oberheim 8-voice, Sequential Circuits Prophet 5, Fender Rhodes Piano, New England Digital Synclavier II, Bode 7702 Vocoder, Roland MKS-80 Super Jupiter, Yamaha DX7 and Yamaha TX7.

Interesting fact: while the float music plays on 1 audio channel, the sound effects for each unit are played on a entrely seperate channel
