It depends on how you throw the ball. Wes Malott for example, looks at the foul line. Most bowlers look at the arrows though. Or even further down the lane.
i used to look at the foulline about a month ago, now i look at the dots between the fouline and arrows..sometimes i still look at the fouline because its more cofortable
it all depends on lane conditions, as you see on this pattern, which has a lot of carry down at this point, and real dry on the outside cuz of burn up, he has to throw it slow so the ball flips in front of the pins in the carry down oil, that's what wes isn't doing and that's why he's leaving pins and coming light

Thats the whole thing with PDW, many pro bowlers throw the ball so hard, which can be good at times, however, Pete throws the ball around 14.5-15 mph. Hes just a magician at putting side roll on the ball. thats dangerous.
its true kimchipinoy, i play bowling too, i'm Belgian and i've got an average of 206 (16 years old) i may throw good, but my style, my form looks disguisting, i admit it myself :) form can help greatly with score, but release is most important
Pete Weber is an excellent bowler. Probably the best ever. His form is perfect. Fluid and stylish. Malott though, has an excellent eye for aim. He has a lotta revs on his throw and he can launch it well I'll admit. But thing is his form is ugly. Looks like he's unable to move his body well for some reason with his approach but somehow he gets his ball to be thrown well once it leaves his hand. No disrespect to you Wes Malott lovers so dont hate. Just be honest and be realistic.
Pete Weber is one of the greatest bowlers this game has ever put together. This was his forth U.S. Open which he may defend going into 2008. At 45 yers old this man hasn't slowed down yet.
