  • Noam Chomsky must have laughed at the references to the media. He's been telling us about the scheme for decades.

  • I wonder where his outrage was when GE got their 140 billon dollar bailout? Did he attack Jeff Immelt? I don't remember it, and can't find it anywhere.

  • ENOUGH!!!!!!!!

    ENOUGH!!!!!!!!

  • ALL RIGHT KEITH! Now there is hope for America when guys like you can tell the truth on main stream media. Right on brother! After all, what does it benefit a man to gain the entire world yet forfeit his soul? You are these evildoers' best friend; though they know it not.

  • No pitchforks and flaming torches. Yet. Nice job Keith Olbermann and thank you CANNV. I wanted to post this on a blog and you provided the means.

  • Fuck pitchforks and flaming torches! I say AK-47s and RPGs!

  • Dog,

With all of your calls to take a stand against something, the only thing your complaining about is private companies doing business. IF you are upset about anything else that is going on, then you HAVE to be upset at the govt, or else you're a hypocrite and have NO understanding about what is going. So, to sum up, if taking a stand against free enterprise is what you advocate, you my friend are a socialist/collectivist who gives no second thought about taking away liberty and property.

  • OLBERMANS RIGHT! He'calls people out for hypocracy. Thx MSNBC for allowing him. Most media folks cant do it. Media often is biased cuz if they speak politically against their corporate bosses, they will be fired. And PLS DONT BLAME OBAMA. He walked into complicated system of Dems, Repubs, and Wall St. who want to keep status quo. This econ crisis has never been dealt with in US history. Only the Great Depression was worse, but is not identical to todays quagmire. Obama treads new wilderness.

  • Americans we have become complacent! Many legislators r no longer representing our best interests. Its public record they get payments from AIG & Wall St. corps. Look at their voting records and news video. They do protect Wall Street. Its documented that legislators KNEW about the AIG bonuses. Yes there were contracts, but the auto workers had contracts too. The govt. made them take lower wages. They coulda held back the AIG bonuses too! Shoulda made AIG millionaires sue for their bonuses!

  • Truth!

  • Keith Olberman is such a hypocritical tool. Go to Fox Forum & read General Electric: The Worst Bailout in the World.

  • You're obviously hangin out way too much, Hang. Keith hits a home run with this SC.

  • Dogsw00f- You are missing the point. Olberman is berating the execs at AIG,CitiBank etc, yet he is leaving his own parent company, GE, alone. Like I said Google "General Electric: The Worst Bailout in the World", & read it. Either way Olberman is a tool, not even a useful one.

  • Nope--I didn't miss the point. Nearly all of us ultimately work for some of the largest companies in the world. I listen to what KO is saying w/out regard to who pays him. It wouldn't be good form to trash his how empolyer, so should he discuss his favorite color? Is that the reporting that makes you happy? Hypocrite or no, he tells the truth. Would you prefer no one speak for fear of being labeled a hypocrite? I'm afraid that's the prime reason the average American is so lazy, fat, smug....

  • Dogsw00f- He is a news reporter, REPORT THE NEWS. If he were a neo-nazi would you call him racist if he didnt report a cross burning by them? If he were muslim & didnt report 9/11 would he be partial? REPORT WITHOUT BIAS thats what I expect. Good & Bad.

  • Keith is right.

  • who allowed them to transferr 1.8 quardrillion ? and is this man saying all the people of AIG are to blame for the worlds mess? All the things here know no boundaries anywhere, anyone. many play parts around the globe all over the US, small parts, big one, short ones, u know... no one groupis to blame the world is in a mess due to many. you know..too many cooks spoil the broth. now, is there anything we can do : (

  • I'm no expert, but I believe that those whom we elected made the executive decision. Too late to un-research a candidate and un-vote now, isn't it?

  • "but that does not give us good cause to dismiss the RESPONSIBILITY of greedy, self-serving, out-of-touch banks like Citi and AIG"

Did the banks commit fraud? Did they break the law?

If you answer yes, then how and why would or could the govt give them billions of dollars to hand out to foreign banks?

If the answer is no they didn't commit fraud, then ch. 11 is specifically for this kind of collapse of a business. It's funny watching you and all the other soviet style cronies of msnbc

  • run around blaming greedy bankers and free markets, when there is no free markets in America. Under ch. 11 bankruptcy, you RE-NEGOTIATE contracts, which means....NO BONUSES for execs. You can thank Chris Dodd for giving your $165M to the bankers. Please explain how our government gets a free ride after creating the conditions for the mess, supplied your money after the mess and sat back and watched the people blame "Greedy bankers, and capitalism."

    your fucking retarded.

  • "your (sic) fucking retarded."

Well said, Twigs4brains. So hate the government, I don't give a flying fuck; most of us do. But that's a weak argument for dismissing the banks' behaviour. We (the people/peasants/slaves) have A CARD TO PLAY, where we actually have the playing field leveled a smidge toward us, for a change, and yet smug individuals like yourself rail on against the gov. I'm not the retarded one.

  • your statement shows you're clearly a believer in marxism. You even refer to YOURSELF as a slave and or a peasant.

    Couple questions if i might.

What is our "Card to play"? Seems to me the card that got played was with our money and WITHOUT our cosent.

What "behavior" should we not dismiss?

(notice how he has to say "Behavior" because the banks DIDN'T break ANY laws)

How was the playing field not level? Did AIG point a gun at you and say "Take this money and don't pay it back!!"

  • Well, TwiggyWiggly, the Card is the negative publicity against the ultra-millionaires who are plundering the "slaves and peasants"; it's the fact that gov is taking action. Did you even listen to KO here? Do you seriously believe it's OK to take bailout money, then continue their irresponsible spending, while all the world looks on? Your (sic) kinda nutty, Twiggy.

  • ? is it? who's side are you on? I stand with all Americans for the good of our country not one or two particular groups. What about you?

  • Mr. Overbite, you have completely side stepped a very very important point right from the beginning.

"Who's accounting errors can be so panoramic that they can make our economy tremble and force us to hand them billions after billions"

What is wrong with this statement?

I'm sorry, i didn't know citigroup had the guns and means to expropriate funds from citizens, i thought that was the government.......

OH YEA, IT IS! Place the blame where it is due Mr. Overbite.

  • So the government gives the likes of Citi a gun, and Citi then shoots the generous masses in the asses, and you say it isn't Citi's fault, Gov gave them the gun ....

And so I say to you, twigs4brains, you are a befuddled nincompoop. Attitudes like yours are at least half the reason for the country's financial disaster.

  • so let me get this straight.

The government does things that are unconstitutional, and against the popular majority of society....

and its the banks and institutions we should be pissed at?

    Please, explain more.

  • No, the gov is (or was) of the people, for the people, by the people. Thus we have every God-given right to be pissed, but that does not give us good cause to dismiss the RESPONSIBILITY of greedy, self-serving, out-of-touch banks like Citi and AIG. If the masses do not take a stand now, at this critical time, we will all be flipping goddamned hamburgers to the crack of a whip, and for ultra-min wages. Grow a real brain, twigs, and take a stand!

  • Mega-corporations are raping us all (hence the 1.8-quadrillion-dollar debt), and freaking morons blame "40 million illegals" ?!

  • Too late now Keith

they already transferred 1.8 quadrilion dollars debt to the American people.

No wonder why they are desperate to add 40 million illegals to the voting rosters

the American people will be livid when they realize they have been crucified
