A photo out of this movie - last one, Carla Nelsen laying on the bed, countess Sztaray crying....- was long time sold as original death-photo of the empress in Vienna. Also in the first edition of Brigitte Hamanns book was this photo of 1920 als original of 1898!!!
So sorry that there are not longer passages of this film. There was also countess Larisch-Wallersee acting her own roll, although she was more than 60 years old and the niece of her "aunt" Carla Nelsen, who was about 23!!!
Endlich mal ein Film, in dem auch der Tod der Kaiserin gezeigt wird - und das schon in den 1920er Jahren. Wann traut sich heutzutage endlich mal jemand drüber, Kaiserin Elisabeth so zu zeigen, wie sie wirklich war?
Meine Rede!!! Wahrscheinlich haben alle Angst, das Klischee zu zerstören. Schade, kein Film wird dieser Frau gerecht. Und gegen diese Neuverfilmung vom ZDF waren ja die Sissi-Filme aus den 50ern noch topp! Sie könnten doch das Musical mal verfilmen! Da störts die Leute doch auch nicht, dass es realitätsnah ist.
das wünsch ich mir auch, ich hab letztens mal zu meiner nachbarin geasagt, das sissi ermordet wurde, sie meinte ich sollte mal die romy schneider filme sehen. nichts wird ihr gerecht, nur das musical zeigt wie sie wirklich war.
@Lumirefan in den romy schneider filmen wird auch gezeigt was sie für probleme mit ihrem leben hatte und dass sie nicht glücklich war. die filme gehen nun mal nicht bis zu ihrem tod und der hauptpunkt liegt in ihrer beziehung mit franz. -.-
@Timmeyyy78 Wenn man Elisabeth wirklich so verfilmen würde, wie sich wirklich war, dann wäre dieser Film der größte Flop der Weltgeschichte. Selbst wenn wir sie irgendwo verstehen können, war sie eine Egoistin ohne gleichen, die Menschen für sich ausgenutzt hat und auf den Gefühlen anderer herum getrampelt ist. So einen Hauptcharacter erträgt auch der beste Film nicht.
