erm on sony vegas 9 i cant find out how to cut something in the middle of the clip,

i know how to cut from start and end but if i were making a montage how would i cut out me dieing i found it really easy on pinnacle but couldnt render so got vegas and can make quality fine and do some nice effects but cant cut out some bits i want to.
