Its basically to show what a fragile state of mind she's in, this song is REAL. You just have to look past all the "breathing sounds" and just appreciate the song for the emotion. I have heard that Sia was going through some things when this song was made. So, it makes it that much more emotional. Just sharing my opinion :]
