Social security as damn near broken in its current state. Socialism is nothing but massive spending that we can't afford especially in our current economic situation. I didn't need healthcare until now, but I have cancer and cannot afford $1000 whenever I go into hospitals, so I needed state coverage. I'd be glad for generally socialized healthcare, because then hospitals and insurance companies won't be in a constant negotiation at insane costs. One chemo treatment is $13,000 for no reason whatsoever. Only negative potential I can see is instead of cutting costs by getting actual unbiased treatment based on effectiveness, they could minimize treatment.

National healthcare in america would actually become more expensive, the reason why it is so expensive now is because federal healthcare.....hell you have seen how much they spend on a toilet seat....however i could almost guarantee you that smoking weed would actually help just as much as chemo treatment with as much studies that have been found in it. Last I checked before federal healthcare got involved on the old statistics it was actually a hell of a lot cheaper.

Realistically it would mean the government would need to have some honor, but let's face it, the insurance agencies sure as hell don't.
