Extremely thankful for posting this hidden treasure full of emotions & love. Chitra Singh has always been an excellent & stylish Ghazal singer. God bless you with great health & prosperity Qandeel.
Khandeel ji I think this ghazal deserves another comment, This is what I feel..Agar dono taraff se aag barabar lagi hui hai toh love is sublime. But if that is not the case & one expects equal return of love then it becomes a trade. True love I feel does not wish to own or needs a trade off..Agar mil jaye toh kia baat hai aur agar nahin mila,,true love will not care because it is selfless. Tum mujhe bhool bhi jao toh ye haq hai tumko meri baat aur hai maine toh mohabbat ki hai.Thks Khandeel ji.
Very beautiful and heart touching ghazal in such a sweet voice. most amazing lyircs. Miss Chitra ji's singing. never heard this song before. Thank you for sharing.
@saraagas Thank you Saraagas, yes, Chitra jee has a voice as sweet as honey. And anything she sings , she conveys it beautifully. I am glad , you heard something, you never heard before here. :) Hope you are doing better now?
Dard Ki Shamein Jala Lenge...Tum Aao toh sahi... wow!! what a beseeching for your beloved, could not have said it in any better way. Chitra Singh, has a sweet voice , amazing vocals and lyrics. Super Ghazal. thanx.
@kchopra4080able Unilateral surrender from humans to God is the only unilateralism that can be defended( for those who believe in God), but surrender from one human to another in love without reciprocity can be delusional and self-destructive, regardless of what various legends say. That's my opinion.
We are nearly on the same page on that. I would like to add that reciprocity, or mutual response matrix, would be welcome only within a reasonable time frame. Beyond that, its stretching the surrender a bit too far and eventually, meaningless.
Sort of, take me as I am, and now! Certainly not by tomorrow!
@kchopra4080able . I think that would be a bit mechanical, like a business transaction. True love has to be nurtured by a steady give and take over time and sealed through shared joys and sorrows-- experiences in which each side's shoulders lend strength to the other without any calculated return but an implicit understanding that both are in a joint adventure called life and neither can derive joy from it without the other. It's a tall order but a good guide, like the North Star.
Outside of lust, being in love with someone is being prepared to work jointly, unconditionally and wholeheartedly, to try to achieve agreed life goals, each and every time. Any unexplained or frequent variation from that, beyond a reasonable length of time or context, would disturb that understanding. What lies there after, isn't love but a dependent survival that would cry slavery, a mockery of life. Only exception: disability or an act of nature but no endless waiting! Thanks
Beautiful poetry sung exceptionally well by Chitra Singh. The lyrics are very touching. Never heard this ghazal before, but yes, you always pick the best. Khandeel, your choice is excellent , presentation is always a class. A beautiful ghazal ,poetry and music. Perfect. Thanks for sharing.
@OMGMEONYT “The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism.” but how well we handle both is the main measurement of a man and his spirit. You praise my choice and selection, which sure makes me smile but I know , all praise here, is for the singer the writer of this wonderful ghazal. But, you my friend , have always been generous in your praise. Thank you. :)
Wah Wah talk of the town ghazal and have this version all around from audio cassette to modren days portables. both of them sung this so well and in my opinion one of their all time best when they were togather and probably still are but she dosen't sing any more for sure.
no pronounciation mistake from a bengali lady is something special, thanks qandeel ji i really enjoyed a lot as always.
@cheecheepia Many tragedies in their life just broke them apart. Loss of a child , I think is the greatest of all losses, specially for a parent. My heart goes out to them .Chitra jee, sings beautifully and yes, her pronunciation for a Bengali is perfect. Thanks Khalid jee. :)
Such total surrender to one's beloved is the ultimate definition of love, but there should be a mutuality of such surrender between the two sides ; only then can there be a sustained experience of divinity in life. "Hum khuda tumko bana lenge tum ao to sahi" should be taken to heart by both sides in any loving tie. The ghazal's message is uplifting, and the medium through which it is delivered, CS, aided by the ethereal bansuri phrases, permeates one's being to the core. Thanks, Qandeel.
@chamogaa I do believe too, such utter surrender is required from both sides .Only then , ''true love'' attains divinity. A very perspective thought indeed. Chitra jee, delivered her message beautifully and you further described it more eloquently. Thanks Vipin da., for your lovely comments.
@khandeel:The perspective of true love,in my opinion,is not conditional to 'utter surrender from both sides to attain divinity in love'.MansoorAl-Hallaj,one of the most renowned sufi saint, believed that man's prayer was to be one of kun,to stand next to the Beloved, renouncing oneself entirely and surrender to his will:He said"Love means transforming oneself in accordance to Him."
And Heer in the state of ecstasy of her absolute love uttered,''Raanjha Ranjha Aakhdi ni Mein Aappi Ranjha Hoii''
@imranzaidi6 I believe , when love is reciprocated it doubles ,brings joy and finally peace within. Love , when it surrenders, succumbs and burns within, finally consumes the consumer. I do believe that ''Love means transforming oneself in accordance to Him.'' Love should transform a person , but not so much as Heer .:)
where it would seem that they are almost one. Not possible? Loved to read your thought here Imran bhai.
Prof.Mago. here believes some what the same here. You may want him.
The concept/principle of reciprocity & mutuality, if accepted, is likely to cover all such probabilities and wouldn't remain confined to one single factor only. Can we,in that case, then call it a True Love to start with Or a relationship based on Cost-Benefit ratio.??
@imranzaidi6 Acceptance that, your love will always remain but will never be returned. Selfless love..which expects nothing in return ,is a love deep and lasting. But I know for sure, it does not exist.
I have seen ,met and heard enough , that men do not love like that., they constantly need assurance that they are also equally loved in return. I believe, unconditional love, is just found in poetry and books.
@khandeel Thats true but love like that may exist. when we love sumone we want their best. But we want our happiness too but that lies with them. choosing between these two is hard bcoz it really hurts.
but in the end true love always makes sure to choose other person's happiness. if not then its not true, its selfish, but it is still love! its human nature to avoid hurting themselves, isnt it!
@heartsatjob You have a good point . Thinking beyond our happiness and putting your loved ones happiness first, sure is a high thought. It would be, if he/she is happy , the partner is happy too.
Yes, no one likes to get hurt. And cushioning our bruises is the best we can do. Thanks.
Are we trying to say that true love is guided by our rational analysis based on reason, which we try to practice while making other decisions in life. This implies that if I have loved someone in the past and does not seem to justify my continuing to love her now as she has lost all the virtues justifying my initial love, why I shouldn't I dump her & continue to love someone else having all those virtues more fully.....(contd below)
@imranzaidi6 There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.” Friedrich Nietzsche quotes, There is no rationality . no reasoning. There is no justification for you to go on loving the person you once did. Silent love , I feel just burns you , consumes you. Reciprocity in love , we all agree, makes us complete. Would you carry on loving a person, without getting any in return? for how long?
No, Not cost -benefit.. but just plain acceptance.contd...
@InayatAkbari Thanks Nayo :) , hahaha , zabardast ghazal laana hotha hai kyun ke dost bhi zabardast hai na mere. :) You are always welcome Nayo. Thank you my friend , for everything.

Nice comment. As a corrollary, what would you say if such a suurender in toto is in the equation from only one side? Would it be correct to do so?
I reckon, reciprocity needs a time frame as well.

@chamogaa . That North Star analogy for an ideal comes from Mahatma Gandhi. Euclid's Point was his other favorite analogy for the same.
