  • This toki1221 is living in his own little world thinking purely about facts and figures. I feel sorry for this person. Don't even want to waste my time arguing with this silly Jap.

  • it is very sad history.ㅠㅠ

  • one should never forget where he or she comes from...

  • @toki1221You are really absurd, illogical or must be mentally challenged. Why? You hurt Koreans, and you intrude the Korean's celebration party without invitation, and keep saying, "Hey let's not talk about my wrongdoing, let's say your party cannot be celebrated." If you still don't understand, then you should blame your mom for your stupidness.

  • @toki1221 : Your absurd logic and impudent attitude shows why Japaness should be still criticized and all the Asians and world hate Japan. If the supports from your staff was so great, why Japanes runner couldn't run in the Olympic?

You guys are imperialist, you will wage war again for your glory.... and justify your self?.

What a pity.... you guys still don't understand the history and peace.....

  • @toki1221 Haha,, Are you saying don't use dirty words like "killer" and "murderer"? You think they are dirty words?

But they are not even close to what Japanese did to many Asians. Do you want me to describe what you did ? do you really want? Now I doubt that you may not know what you did. Then just be quiet and study more.

  • @toki1221 And is that why Japanese love to make fantasy histories? I am not entirely sure what happened between you and taiphoony but unless you ever studied why Korea did not accept Western cultures in the end of 19th century, you should perhaps be quite a bit. I do not speak of something that I do not know of. I am not goin' to say this is way of Korean. Because, I do not represent all the Koreans. Unlike you, who think you are the representative of Japan and all Japanese are like you.

  • @yuriyuri92 I've ever read the article that Korean planned to change Sohn's nationality on a plate of the Olympic stadium in Berlin, Germany. And I just warn Korean on youtube that you should stop such a thing because you just commit a crime. Sohn was ethnically Korean, but Korea was a colony of Japan at that time and his nationality was Japanese. Please don't be emotional and please accept an international sense.

  • @toki1221 If I were you, at least, I wouldn't say anything in this field, though not so courageous as to confess. But here you rather triggered the argument. That's why you deserve to be insulted.

Please be quiet, if you want to be a great Japanese. If not, you are insulting yourself and isolating yourself.

That's not my dream or wish. Open your eye and look around the other wrold.

I know most of Japanes stay in Japan... because of your passive nationality. (this is from you Japanese)

  • @toki1221 hahaha, you already seem to lose your life. Hey kid, truth cannot be changed whatever you argue. Sohn is a Korean because he wanted to be. You are stupid Japanes, because you want to be. Yes, you are Japanes, you showed it exactly.

  • @toki1221 Toki, one piece of advice for you. Your concept for the nationality is based on your brutal primitive 春秋戰國時代 history. You may think, once you occupy the enemy's castle, the castle is yours and the peoples in the castle are yours. But that's true only for your history. No other country, particularly, when the poeple are metally strong. They don't obey to the conquerer and remain as their original people. That's why you're doing stupid argument.

  • @toki1221 Try to live in a real life my friend. If a man does not have a pride, and right at that moment, you are choosing not to be a man any longer. You know why? Because THAT runner was a Korean. Of all the Japanese, it is clear he is Korean. You can take his medal, You can take our freedom. You can take our country. But Japanese or anyone in the entire universe shall not take our dignity. Germany have accepted their damn crime to Jews and other European countries.

  • @yuriyuri92 I've debated with Korean for a long time and reached a conclusion that it just wastes a time. Korean have very low inferiority complex between big powers Japan and China making them so mad about everything. Especially Korean are historically influenced by Confucianism so much which tells who is superior or who is inferior. That's why Korean are so competitive even for a cheap pride. Korean hope to win everything in order to calm down your inferiority complex.

  • @toki1221 But how is Japan my friend? Do they ever accept their defeat and their crime? No. Why? Because of the fucking pride you are talking about. Terror is not your friend. Japanese killed so many people during Imperial days. How are can I not say Japanese are a mass murderers? Get real. Try to live in your life.

And if you got any questions or try your best to defeat me, email me to: yuikris(at)msn.com

But I know you cannot defeat me. Because whatever you say, history cannot be changed.

  • @yuriyuri92 However, these character loses everything overall and history tells it. Korean will never understand what I mean. OK, keep fighting by yourself and you can keep your misery history forever. At least Japanese are not such silly. I won't get your childish provocations. Please don't let me down your same level. I know how meaningless it is. That's why I ignore you and keep in mind last:

IGNORANCE IS THE BIGGEST INSULT ON THE PLANET.

  • @toki1221 Yeah Ignorance is the biggest insult on the planet. That is what Japanese all think about. You guys do not know there are other major insults other than ignorance. But how kind of you to not givin' me any insults providing you know it can be the biggest insults. That tells me, how childish you people are. No. Don't put me down to YOUR level. As I told you, I try my best to think straight. But I do not think you are. I've seen many Japanese, good and bad. You are just one of many.

  • @toki1221 Whatever you try to tell me, I actually do understand in some ways. But I cannot understand you selfishness and stupidity. Japanese are not silly? To hell with it, you serious my friend? That is why they dump million tons of toxic waste from the Nuke power plants? No. Actually that is stupidity. I live in New Zealand. And Nearly everyone who knows what YOU people did to our beautiful planet, most kiwis I met says,

  • @toki1221 They are just being silly, being Japanese again. And YOU say Japanese are not silly. How interesting. is it? My friend, most of the times, the best insult is making someone to realise their wrong doing. Because then the person will realise his mistake and will try to hide everything. I told you. If you are not scared of me, then send me an email to yuriyuri92(at)msn.com. So I can show you what Japs did during the World War 2. Hope you are atleast not proud of Japan's part in WW2

  • And look around my friend. Look at the facts. Don't try to make up your own fantasy. Japanese people still do not know the impact of a war. What it can do to other countries. That is why they never ever say a single world call sorry to surrounding nations. Many Japanese are good. But some of them are complete nut jobs as it is in all the countries in the world. But in Jap's case, the scale is enlarged due to World War Two. You should study world history my friend. I'm only 19.

  • But I do know how to distinguish between a fantasy and a fact. Wake up from your little dream and see the world for yourself. That is the problem of some groups of Japs. They will never understand the peace and harmony of the world. And I bet you do too my friend. Unlike you, I do not say all Japs cannot understand. I say a few. Because I know the fact that No one is exactly like the other. But you do not. I believe, this proves that you are ignorant and yeah, livin' in your own fantasy.

  • Great victory for Son Kitei and the Japanese Empire

  • @19091026 wtf

  • @19091026 fuck you

  • @19091026 hey son looks so sad without korean flag

  • In 1988 Seoul Olympic, they should have had both Sohn and Nam run together and light the torch in the opening ceremony. They both won gold and bronze. It is so sad that Mr. Nam got so little attention and respect. South Koreans are just so mean....only cares about GOLD medals. Sad, sad......Sorry about that Mr. Nam the 1936 bronze medalist - you are as good as gold !!! Thank God, I don't live in that tiny mean spirited country

  • the bronze winner was my grandfathers running buddy up to the 70's...

  • Miracle that Mr Sohn created did not end there.

In 1992 Summer Olympic Games, another Korean athlete won the gold. His name is Hwang Young Jo. Hwang who confessed his role model was Mr Sohn dedicated his gold medal to Mr Sohn.

    This is Korean spirit.

Koreans are the only country people who do not use their colonized country's language. It is becaus of their spirit. With such strong spirit, Korea created something from nothing. I am proud of being Korean.

  • Mr. Sohn won the gold medal at 1936 Berlin Olympics and he shook hands with the the most infamous human being Adolf Hitler. Bronze medal was given to Mr. Nam, another Korean athlete. Mr Nam confessed later that he envied Mr. Sohn not because Sohn won the gold but because Sohn was able to cover Japanese freaking flag with his laurel on his chest while Mr Nam wasn't able to.

  • 1900's not 90's...

  • Japs were worst creature for Koreans in early 90's.... This is good example of person without freedom.... Koreans will never forget what happen in this stadium and history as well!!! Son Ki-Jung wasn't happy person here cuz he is Korean not Japanese!!!

  • @NewYorkNYKer Personally , i think that japanese represed koreans so much but they too occidentalized Korea

  • I am Korean but I do think WBC final was a great game. Ichiro suzuki is a great baseball player in my opinion. Koreans lost the game but the game itself was great. BTW there is no buisiness like show business.

  • Bitter sweet moment for Korea. What was really incredible was when Kee Chung Son carried the Olympic torch into Seoul Stadium in the opening ceremeny in 1988. Two words: KOREAN PRIDE. You can take our lives. But you'll never take our freeeedddddom!

BTW, Ichiro Susuki is a prick.

  • i would've ripped the japanese flag right off my clothes

  • Korea was illegally occupied by Japan you douche. These guys were Korean.

  • retard

  • legally annexed? u need to dig further the world history. if u really believe it waws legal, u r seriously retarded. there's no such thing as legal annexation back then. the stronger nations didn't give a shit about legality when annexing smaller ones.

  • I was quoting korean news paper. and i was able to read korean news paper because i am korean. my id dokkiro is korean. get it? dokkiro emakka. i must agree with korean news paper. it was japanese science of physical training. and thats something we have to give japanese some credit for.

  • @dokkiro

no more like killing off the rest of his family if he fails cough cough i mean motivate him to be a proud japanese

  • dude, JAPANESE SCIENCE WON THE GOLD MEDAL FOR THE KOREANS????? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! yo you japs seriously need to get a life man. i mean, just because he was trained by another country doesn't mean that ANY credit should go to that country. it should to to the individual and teh coaching staff. the american womens volleyball team is coached by a chinese women, but that doesn't mean "chinese science" helped the team at all.

  • that's the worst argument i have ever heard. then why do you have so many american and non-japanese baseball coaches and players in japan? i thought japanese science is so much superior

  • We,Japanese, must apologize to Korean for the fact that the flag in the center poll was not Korean national flag, although Kee-Chung Sohn was Korean.

  • thank you, finally someone who finally understands and is sorry for some of japan's wrongdoings during the japanese rule over korea. i hope everyone will know about this and finally get down to what is right in the history books. in the end, i hope all koreans and japanese resolve their conflicting feelings towards one another and accept the past as how it really happened

  • Kee-Chung Sohn was a legend! His story was one of the most emotional! Moreover he won it in front of those evil minded germans(hitler and co.)! It's great to c him bringing the torch at the 1988 Games!

    R.I.P Sir Kee-Chung Sohn!

  • umm... u recognize that 1936 korea was japanese and Kee-Chung was running for japan, the ally of germany? why should those "evil minded germans" be angry about that?

  • The saddest part is when they are playing the Japanese national anthem

  • Finally, after 56 years later, He could be laugh without Japanese Anthem. A Korean gold medalist who won Marathon at Barocelona Olympics in 1992 allowed him to touch the medal. Of course, Korean anthem was played in Barocelona.

  • Thanks for the post. No need to bag on the Japanese. The truth will out.

  • this guy

    who REALLY was a nationalist

    who loved his COUNTRY

and felt so guilty for earning the nation that occupied and viciously tortured his country, and they probably threatened him to win the marathon,

was the saddest man ever to stand on the gold medal podium.

  • No wonder why he cried.

  • Thanks for the upload.

  • awsome

    rip biggie and 2 pac

  • I believe in 1992, one of the students of this runner won gold medal in the olympics. Won passing Japan and German runner. check out second video on related videos.

  • wow this is rlllly old probly the oldest olympic footage you'll ever find on the internet...

  • Those should be two Korean Flags flying at the Ceremony, not Japanese! Hard time for Koreans then, but it was great to see him running at the opening ceremony in Seoul.

  • I believe Sohn expressed a deliberate disrespect by turning his head to the ground during the Japanese national anthem. He understandably resented having to run for Japan and even use a Japanese name Kitei Sohn. Koreans remember Sohn as a hero.

  • It's indeed sad that these koreans have to take part in the Olympics under the Japanese flag but oddly to me they complete the race in Nazi-Germany.

  • wow !!! Just can not imagine that this happened 72 years ago. Considering how fucked up our world is we have come a long way in a short period of time. Hope not long until We call North and South Korea as just Korea.

  • "Hope not long until We call North and South Korea as just Korea."

    Amen and Amen to that

  • So many sad burdens the good people of the world have to bear!!! But truth is truth!!

  • Still their official nationality at IOC is Japanese. as the Seoul Olympics were held in Korea 1988, Kee-Chung Sohn ran as a last runner with torch. He ran jumping as a innocent child. He passed away 6 years ago in Seoul.

  • 2 Sad winners(Kee-Chung Sohn for gold & Seung-Ryong Nam for Bronze) were koreans but, forced to participate in games as Japaneses. You can see that the gold medalist are hiding the Japanese flag on his shirt downing his head. and then, that night, He send a card to his friend in Korea, saying just one word, "SAD"

  • THANK YOU very much for this video. FANTASTIC!!

  • damm japs....

  • Very sad...

  • That's my grandad coming second for Great Britain and Northern Ireland

  • good on him! Did he ever talk to you about those games?

  • He was from Northern Ireland? Cool! My dad was born there. Lisburn, Northern Ireland.

  • they should know how embarrassing this is for them.

  • How do Japanese people feel about this? Sure, they were credited with the gold, but it will always be known that the winner was not Japanese. Are they ok with a KOREAN representing them? Do they now disown this moment in their history?

  • The Japanese aren't taught most of their imperialist History. You would be hard pressed to find Japanese books that critizes their own history.

  • it was an ironic moment in history. the winner shouldve been happy and elated, but he was somber and tried his best to cover the flag of the imperialists. he should be highlighted for his silent protest of imperial oppression.

  • Stupid Japanese monkeys are always jealous of Koreans and tried to force Koreans to become japanese. Pathetic.

  • Highly interesting document! Thank you for your comprehensive video documentation.
