This song affects me so much more now than it did when I heard it as a kid. ;^^ I have two cats, one of whom was left in the petshop for several weeks due to not being as cute and young as the other kittens who came and went (also, her tail had been broken, and its appearance can't have helped much in making others want to buy her). I'm just so unbelievably relieved that both she and my other cat are with me now, and not abandoned as Rita is here! ;^^

Riyta and runt were my favourite characters on the show.

i was a big fan of musicals at the time so having a star like Bernadette Peters on the show was just fantastic for me.

I don't understand how ANYONE can stop loving their cat. My cat was a stray ,two days later she gave birth, and I still have two of the babies almost four years later. They may not be as cute, but their just as cuddly. and they love you even more! <3

@Ihateironman It comes down to you get out of your pet what you put into it. If you give it love and affection, most of them time (not all, cats have their own personalities), they'll be loving and affectionate towards you. You treat 'em like dirt, guess what their reaction's gonna be. My sister's cat was also abandoned, but she took it in and now that cat is very caring towards us and sleeps on my bed at night.

My cat is all grown up,but I still love her.My mom hates her and doesn't want anything to do with her.But she usually sleeps at my side and even in the middle of the night,when she cries out for love,I slowly open my door and softly call her name-"Fuffy...Fuffy...".We've always been together since she was a kitten,and she's legally mine.So,Rita's stereotyping.

They really put a lot of effort into the music of Animaniacs. Even the unimportant background music is pretty detailed, and it runs through the WHOLE episode, syncing with every action. They'd always put little twists into it too, like how the episode about Beethoven had segments of his songs constantly coming up in the background.

Seems like nowadays you don't get a song this good unless it's some rare special episode, but it was par for the course in Animaniacs
