@Anoush13 You guys, you act like I did nothing but pull it out of the barn and turn the key. I didnt RECORD the work I did before starting the car. Since you are all such negative nancy's, Ill spell it out for you all: 1) I changed the oil. 2) I put a new battery in it. Its big and black and sits under the rear seat. see? I know where it is! 3) I put a thick tube down into the gas tank and attempted to suck the gas out. No gas was in the tank. I put in 5 gallons, then recorded this vid. DONE.
the engine don't start only because there was no gasoline for this old M50B25 to start the engine after 2 years 1st you need to give contact 2-3 times because the fuel pump must loading the whole fuel installation and then the engine will start from 1st time :)
@NorCalZman The M52B28 nikasil block linings were a disaster, many were recalled and changed to alusil. Heavey oil useage and overheating was caused by this problem.
For an engine with an extra 300cc compared with the M50B25 you only have 1 extra hp, due to its restricted inlet manafold. Ok you get a bit more torque through the gears, but not as many rpms as the M50B25. Need i go on?
@TheJamiejame ok. Im new to BMWs so still learning. Thought you might have been implying that the M50 wasnt a good engine. I have really been enjoying it and it has seemed to be very reliable.
@Pitchplus8 I was going to say exactly that, but i would have added the M50B25 vanos because this is the 1994 engine that caused the M52B28 to be a bit of a failure
@LtColQwerty u actually dont want to do that. my brother was explaining that if u crank it a few times, u build up pressure allowing the engine to start easier. not necessarily faster but it wont put as much strain. hes a mechanic
@magimicsss thank you, sir. never really veiwed the entire film. proud owner of a 2000 bmw 328i; albeit somewhat discontent with performance after recently driving a 2001 325i.
M50 is most reliable engine I've seen. I been able to start it after a week on -35C cold within first 1-2 seconds.

I call bull shit on this!
After two years, the battery would be dead, and the fuel would have been stale and it shouldn't run.

i hope you put some new gas in before you did that, 2 year old gas is not good for any kind of engine.

@idunknowlol There was no gas in the tank. evaporated maybe? just put new gas in and recorded this video. Has been running like a champ ever since.

@LtColQwerty because that's good for your starter? common sense

@LtColQwerty
It's better the way he does it.
Car should start in under a second.
By doing this instead of your way, you let the battery have a higher voltage at the end instead of putting a strain on the battery for 10-15 seconds.
