Yes, that Cross Your Heart ad is far more consciously "jolly" than you'd ever get now.

Paul Gambaccini voices for Modern Love. Those British Pork ads were horrible (though not quite as bad as the British Lamb ones).

I agree about those British Pork adverts, they certainly had that "vomit-filled-mouth" feeling.

...and probably the worst thing is that I've found a number of them on my tapes! So you might see a few more!!!
