Your boots will stink and very soon they'll become a paradise for every fungus and mold known to man and you'll probably get athletes foots on top of it - and THEN the boots will rot and you'll have to get another pair. At this point your transformation into a tremendous fuck-up will be complete.
Plus, you will have reduced the life of a well-made and well-maintained pair of boots from at least 100 years, to may less than 2.... yeah, THAT'S ecological, LOL.
This is a bad idea. Any oil left over will go rancid. Rancid will go any rags that came in contact with the oil. And now you have rags to throw away too, how earth friendly is that?
Hey that's really cool! One thing you can also do by yourself at home is replace your heel tips. You can order them online (check out my profile!) In this economy you can't let your things get ruined so quickly!
This way is crap, the shine sucks and it will damage your shoes. Kiwi polish doesn't dull your shoe, people just don't know how to shine shoes. Put the polish on the shoe, melt it with a blow dryer or lighter then buff it with water or panty hoes.
i fuckin hate people going on about being eco friendly were all guna die eventually so do the fuck what you want dont listen to the dickheads who believe in saving the planet its a known fact that in the future the sun will expand and it will destroy the earth so why waste your time
I'm not a hippie or anything but think of it this way. There are two apocalyptic scenarios; man-made or solar expansion. One of these events could occur within you or your children's lifetime, the other in hundreds of millions of years. Which do you prefer?
The oil will eventually permeate into the leather, and bacteria will break it down and destroy the shoes. As an ex-ARMY Officer my boots were shiny like mirrors. (Good for Britney PID)Nothing works better than spit and polish. Make it your spare time hobby. Your efforts will be reflected in what you can see.
huh? u mean kiwi doesnt work? as in doesnt make the shoe shine? yea actually it doesnt. it's for coating which makes it dull. if u r talking bout melting kiwi in the sun then yea... may work
Burned kiwi.. you take the stuff and light it on fire and spread it evenly over the leather. Let it dry in and keep doing that over and over. After a while, you have a mirror-like finish.
At least you can get a lot of info from comments if it is a stupid video.. ;DD

This new age Hippy Crap is just that.
I agree with JMAjustin; the best way is the Kiwi way. It protects the leather, waterproofs, and a real lasting shine, nylons works the fastest, too.
Olive oil isn't polishing, it's artificial shining and won't last; will make the leather too soft and will scuff easier.
THIS VIDEO IS TOTAL CRAP.
