  • No steak is worth that. I also disliked for the atrocious song at the end.

  • Save your money. It isn't worth it.

  • That's about the only good thing they have on the menu that's good porterhouse and bacon everything else's sucks they have 2 appetizers thick slices of tomato and onion or bacon I chose bacon and sides were cream of spinach which was just spinach in butter wasn't a fan and they have thick cut French fries which was ok steak was very good but highly overrated !!

  • $86??? The waitress better suck my dick while I eat for $86

  • This guy's as q**r as a lemonade sandwich

  • This guy's as queer as a lemonade sandwich

  • Having travelled all the way from the UK on my Honeymoon to NYC and paying a special visit to the Peter Luger Steakhouse i can honestly say i have never been more disappointed. The steak was good but it wasn't this amazing experience as i was led to believe it was going to be

  • Only an idiot would pay $86.00 for a fucking piece of meat. The rich fit into that category.

  • Been there.. Done that! Good steak, certainly.. NO Dought!!!! New Yor4k's a hell of a city!!!!!

  • Fucking pussy, couldnt finish that steak?

  • all jerk offs here, hes saying its tasty and he got 3-4 more meals out of it? i guess its well woth over $86.00.

  • you have to try out the rare bar&grill restaurant in the hilton fashion district!

They make the best steaks I know.

Especially the new york strip is very delicious!

  • Hate all you want, they charge that much because you can't get a better steak. Says who? Says every noteworthy publication, food critic and line out the door for the past hundred years!!!

  • Holy SHIT! Why don't I just write them a cheque for $80 right now and forget the steak? It'll save me the some time :-P

  • 3 visits to PL and all unpleasent, overcooked-undercooked, slow service and over priced for the quality

  • Well, if you had enough for 4 extra meals, maybe it was worth the price.

  • i disliked this becasue honestly, for that price ur going into kobe/wagyu territory...

  • Come to Argentina, and wherever you stop for a good meal, you can eat the same as that for 10 bucks.

  • i ate there when i went to nyc with my family over the summer. i've had better steak at other places but the bacon appetizer and they're onion rings are orgasmic haha

  • Ok steak but no way the best not even close

  • i tried to get reservations. they told me to get out, because i was too poor. i agreed.

  • i'm Brazilian but one day i'll eat there,everything looks so good,congratulations

  • 3 or 4 other meals you kidding me? my wife and i knock that steak out by ourselves.

  • Did Peter Luger also invent the German Luger pistol?

  • Super fucking lame. If you're getting additional meals out of it, then I'd say it's WELL worth the price tag. I mean, it's worth it anyway. It's not like you'd eat there every single day. It's so pricey because it's Peter Lugar, but I'm sure it's among the best steaks you'll ever have, even if it does cost more than all of them.

  • For 100 bucks I'd expect an orgasm at least.

  • @don417 haha, totally agree.

  • The best thing to do when you go to Luger's is leave it up to the waiter.

I agree with the other posters here; the narrator is a jerk is probably happier with a Happy Meal.

  • nice review

  • I've heard this about Peter Lugers before, how it's not as amazing as it should be for the money you pay.

  • @pistolino69 take it easy i spelt it wrong

  • A steak that costs that much must be great, amirite?

  • $43 dollars per person isnt shit for the best steak in the world you fucking loser. also you ordered it medium which shows you have no fucking clue what you're doing, any competent food critic would order it rare.

you seriously think it should be 40 dollars? are you fucking serious? thats 20 dollars per person. this isnt fucking sizzler you piece of shit loser, fucking moron.

your videos are garbage, your channel has less than 200 subs, and you dont know shit about steaks. enough said

  • peter luger i good but overrated

  • Peter Lugers is not for everyone? I dont think this dude belongs there? I agree they are not cheap, but they are not the most expensive either. I recently went to mortons, steak for two is $110.00, I also was at Ruth Chris, there steak for two was over $100.00, in both cases i felt lugers steak blew them away! I agree i think this gentleman belongs at outback or boulder creek.

  • Good review bro.

  • fuck off asshole this steak is definitely worth it

  • Ruth's Chris here in Honolulu offered us their porterhouse for two for an "affordable" $94 last night.

  • I HAD A PORTERHOUSE STEAK AT BURTON AND DOYLE IT WAS PRETTY GOOD

TODAY I HAD A BURGER-LUNCH THERE IT WAS HIGHLY UNSATISFACTORY AND THE GUY THERE WAS KINDA DEMENTED I WOULD HAVE TIPPED HIM MORE BUT NAHH!

BUT I HEARD THE STEAKS AT PETER LUGAR R SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE COMPARED 2 B&D

  • Great vid, yellow. The steak they serve is the best prime beef in the city, probably the best in the country. That's the reason for the price. Well, that, and the massive reputation and foodie cred which allows them to hike the prices that far up and still have more demand than they can accomodate. On my budget I'd go there maybe once a year, or on special occasions. I'd love to know of a place that does a steak of comparable quality for much cheaper.

  • I noticed that everyone waiting was Japanese or Chinese. Guess, this must be a tourist trap?

  • basically you're telling the people don't go there...

  • $50 to get to the front of the line of that long line to a guy named tom or ritchie

  • @ShadowNick5 go to great neck, get in right away no wait same steak

  • $86 for a 2person steak? that's $43 a person.

Sorry, but that's cheap for a full meal steak.

    Last time I had a kilo steak I payed 45euro's (63 dollar).

  • @madhat1979 well go to the 9 merciere in Lyon, they do a superb 2 pound rib steak for 22 euros

  • @alezlesbleus yeah, but I live about 1000km away from Lyon, that's a far drive when your hungry.

But 22 euro is insanely cheap, overhere you get a KFC bucket of chicken for 22 euro.

  • $40 dollars in NYC lol for 2 ?

  • HOW MUCH???!?!!!!!!

  • @Joe3179 i will i had capaciou Italian raw beef and that will be next on my list

  • @MRKandyman1 By the way it's called CARPACIO not capaciou you donk!!!! Learn how to spell instead of butchering the beautifull Italian language

  • best steak i ever had and ive been in many steak houses around the country

  • @MRKandyman1

if you wanna try sth good, try kobe beef raw

  • have u guys eaten steak at bobby vans in manhattan?

  • I like this video! Don't listen to them other shits. I think you're a pretty nice guy. Excuse me? What "your kind belongs in Applebee's and Outback"? That's just BS and it's not like THEY have never eaten there before. I like my steak medium too, you're supposed to be there to enjoy a meal, not worry about what crackheads on YouTube think. If you like yours raw, then have it raw. ;)

  • @taylorswift091196 Thanks Taylor :)

  • @taylorswift091196 why dont you just suck his dick and wash his car while your at it :/

  • @pogisiG shut up monkey.

  • @taylorswift091196 pretty racist... :(

  • @pogisiG what?? I don't even know what race you are. You think I bothered to go find that out? And, monkey is not a racist slur. I called you what I called you because you told me to suck a dick. Idiot!

  • @pogisiG now im an idiot monkey? :(

  • But that Quality can be experienced in several "lesser renowned" locales... No doubt, New York's a HELL of a city. That's where I grew up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You have no idea what your doing. Ordering a Luger's steak medium shows how much of an amateur you are. Anything above medium rare and your absolutely killing the meat. The fact that you think the steak was only mediocre is a joke. Peter Luger's has HANDS DOWN the best Porterhouse steak in NY and even the tri-state area. Becoming a food critic clearly is not your calling in life.

  • @JIB411 Peter Luger is notorious for this. If you order a steak medium, the won't prep it the same way they would a normal steak. Notice its sizzling, instead of being rested. If you order it well or more, they'll give you a tiny cut of overcooked meat.

Happened to my friend (we all had med-rare & he had well), and when he asked the waitress why his was so small she answered, "When you learn how to order a steak, you get a real one." Which we all laughed at.

  • This guys cheap, $105 for 2 at Peter Lugers is a great deal. Plus I know he did'nt order wine or dessert. Some people just don't know quality.

  • why pay so much money to eat here when you can buy the prime grade usda steaks yourself, season it yourself, make all the different sides you want, and then eat more steaks then you would get here at peter scam lugers

  • Phantom Planet!

  • I do not want some cook hacking up my steak in the kitchen, and the only way a T-bone can cost a hundred bucks is if it weighs 10 lbs.!!!

  • Screw that! For $105 you can buy a lot of steak and cook it yourself. Peter Luger is a con artist.

  • @supercooled No, you just don'y have any money, lol . I ate here 3 times while I was in NY for a week. Cheapo.

  • @mrrogue72 I have some money; not a lot of it but I do have some. That said, a fool and his money are easily parted.

  • Yea this place is way over rated. My steak was undercooked and had terrible off flavors on the outside, i'm gonna say a tainted grilling or serving surface. The rolls are hard and very salty, the butter was cold right out of the fridge and impossible to spread. The sides were very salty, i'd say applebees quality.

  • Comment removed

  • @rolex452 You are right, it's definately a tourist trap. I'll bet half a century+ ago this place was much better. The ambiance is like "hurry up and eat and get out, we have money to make!" Again, the sides dishes and rolls were applebees quality at best. I'll stick to grilling my own ribeyes for a fraction of the cost, thanks, but NO thanks Lugers.

  • peter lugers is the 5th best steak house in the country this guy is definatley not a steak eater.the steak is extraordinary if u come to new york you must go

  • the steak looks boring

  • this is such pretentious bs.. its meat from safeway, with melted butter..geez ppl

  • ambience and charm?????equals gloomy atomsphere-rude waiters- not much selection-no flavor I can cook a much better steak on my grill! im heging my bets they pay off people to get great reviews

  • You just proved to the everyone that you know absolutely shit about the average price of a steak in the Restaurant/Steakhouse world kid-O ! I've tried many great steakhouses in the U.S and Canada and 86$ for a GREAT steak that feeds 2 is in the price norm. Maybe you should stick to mc donald's where you can have an amazing burger/ meal for only 8$.

  • this guy dosent know his steak if he says its worth 40 ive been across the country since i was moving my whole life and lived in calif, texas, florida, michigan, and new york and this is the best steak i ever had it melts in your mouth and feels like heaven

  • It's dry aged steak what they serve.......why pay $90 for a steak? I get my own dry aged steak at the local butcher for $19.99 a pound and a 1.5lb steak does it for me......

So yeah, you pay extra for the ambiance but I've never been impressed with eating steak at a restaurant, I get my own and grill it.

  • its cash only because they wanna hide it from taxman

  • The man ordered it medium at the best steakhouse on the planet. I struggled to call him a man in that sentence. The opinions in this youtube are about what you would expect from a guy that orders a medium steak at the greatest steakhouse on earth. Not worth a shit. I have been to many great steakhouses all over the world, and am in fact a Chicagoan, yet I still recognize that nothing touches Peter Luger's.When something is a one of a kind, it's priceless. This penny pincher is worth ignoring.

  • Yea this place is way over priced and over rated. The dry aging and quality of steak is second to none ...... but my steak had terrible off flavors on the outside, i'm guessing from the cooking surface. The rolls and bread served before the meal were cold and over salted, and the butter was straight out of the refrigerator, impossible to spread. The sides were extremely salty, like something you would expect from applebees.

  • but does it taste good?it looks tough.

  • this guy sounds like a moron. if you ever ate peter luger's you'd know this guy was a fucking idiot and that it's the most amazing steak in the world

  • this guy should go eat at mac donalds like a good ol american if he thinks 87 dollars for a steak is too expensive

  • over priced! overrated!

  • this place is overated-without a doubt the steaks are tender but are they that tasty?????i get better flavor on my grill with charcoals-the ambience sucks in this place and thier attitude

  • oh hemroids!!!

  • WTF.. DOES A BLOWJOB COME WITH THE FOOD?

  • The best steak is the one you make at home yourself.

  • -.- Not impressed

  • this dude is such a fag...born n raised in bklyn tht steak is soo worth it

  • GERMAN TREAT AMERICANS ... and you americans are too stupid to know that hhahaha

  • this is probably the safest and most effective torture tool.

  • I went to Peter Luger, instead of the Porterhouse, I had the Prime Rib, it was amazing. I went to the Long Island location and it took me 30 seconds to get a table there. If you like Luger, try Wolfgang's which is another steakhouse owned by a former waiter at Peter Luger. The LI location is in a nicer neighborhood. I always thought Ribeye is the best cut of steak not Porterhouse, and you can get Ribeye there.

  • New York is not a steak city, especially compared to Texas, go to the Big Texan Steakhouse in Amarillo, what is Peter Luger?? Its for rich Wall Street bankers with too much cash to burn.

  • NO BLACK PEOPLE?!!!

  • @PrehistoricOwnage The place is too expensive! Nah im jk

  • @PrehistoricOwnage Thats why its so expensive to keep em out hehe

  • @PrehistoricOwnage lol your fuckin racist there is barely any Blacks in new york ;)

  • @PrehistoricOwnage asians though

  • Don' think this guys a steak eater. Nuff said.

  • @xGoC Oh, I am a steak eater! I'm just not made of cash :)

  • @yellowwproductions $105 ain’t shit for a meal for two at a legendary steakhouse you broke ass bitch; especially considering all the leftovers you had. You may be a steak eater, but you’re not a connoisseur. No true steak lover would order it cooked above medium rare. Stick with Applebee’s and Outback. It’s where your kind belongs.

  • @zalupastyle No shit right,lol.

  • @yellowwproductions Then do'n go there. How can you enjoy the meal while you're worrying about the bill.

  • when i went there, steak was good, not exceptional, i had the homefries and onion rings which were a tad bit too oily, the service was very good. i think its a little pricey because dry aging takes alot of time and money.

  • If you want to go to peter lugers prepare to be in shock , the bill for 3 of us was over 350$ including the tip which was 50$

  • @liamakakidcudi96 ouch! That's about how I felt :)

  • @liamakakidcudi96 not even a 15% tip?

  • @coreyagraph i honestly dont remember i mean the tip was well over 50$ i didnt pay, my mom did lmfao. But all in all it was expensive but worth it.

  • @liamakakidcudi96 so your own budget determines the absolute value of the steak? you're an idiot.

you simply don't know anything about upper tier steaks. obviously it's a waste of $ for you. doesn't mean it's not an $86 steak.

also, ordering it medium kind of shows right off the bat you're not a steak guy. so why are you doing a steak review?

eh... you're out of your league and element and made a fool of yourself imo.

  • @sharpnova2 Oh im sorry didnt mean to offend you? I didnt know you studied steak, im 15, i could care less if im a steak guy or not. In my opinion peter lugers steak is the best steak ive ever had. Have a nice day.

  • @liamakakidcudi96 i'm not sure how my comment ended up being a reply to you. i was actually talking to the guy who posted this video.

i agree with you. i love peter luger's.

  • @sharpnova2 And this is not my video... its @yellowwproductions video, so why are you bringing up the fact that it was an 86$ dollar steak, i neve said t was or wasnt. It is expensive though, coming from me a 15 year old...

  • @liamakakidcudi96 I already explained that I wasn't sure how my comment ended up being a reply to you and that it was intended for yellowwproductions.. Do 15 year olds need simple things explained twice these days?

  • @sharpnova2 I wrote that right after the comment as you can tell it says two weeks ago. I wasnt trying to cause a fight, just make sure you check the date of the comments before you try to start fights. Its funny how you say i need things explained to me twice meanwhile your the one commenting towards to owner of the video on a reply to my comment. Nice

  • @liamakakidcudi96 I meant to reply to the poster. I accidentally replied to you. You replied to me. I replied to you and explained that i meant to reply to the video poster and accidentally replied to you. You replied again, still not understanding. So I replied again asking why you need things explained twice. And now you're replying yet again. So 15 year olds need things explained three times nowadays?

  • @sharpnova2 Lets go for four.

  • @liamakakidcudi96 My guess is that the amount of times needed to explain a simple concept to your average fifteen year old nowadays is infinite. They will never understand it.

A different metric: The amount of times an explanation will be attempted: a function of the patience of the more "sentient" explainer.

In this short discourse, I am the teacher. You are the student. Despite my staggering intellect, your meager excuse for a brain falls short of comprehending any explanation I can offer.

  • @sharpnova2 Lmfao you dont need to write all of that. I understand you accidently replied to my comment, thats fine. I just find it kind of funny how your getting mad. No need to try to make me think your smart over the internet. I bet you are. Yes im 15, all i think about is having sex with my girlfriend, music, and football. And ontop of that im an average student usually around 85-90 average. Im not claiming to be smart, i could do alot better if i wasnt as focused on sports.Enjoy Peter Luger

  • @sharpnova2 Sharpnova2 is on the money.. it's pricey, but it keeps the riff raff out. The steaks are amazing, and who goes for lunch? Go for dinner on a Friday or Saturday night, get a cocktail or a few of their house ales at the bar while you wait for a table, then enjoy the ambiance.. which includes the new york crowd, the waiters in bow ties, everything that goes with it. Peter Luger's is a great experience with outstanding food and libations.

  • @liamakakidcudi96 WHY WOULD YOU BE IN "SHOCK"? PRICES ARE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU, UNLESS YOU CAN'T ADD.

  • Steak.. Steak... Steak...

  • I would hope that is the best damn steak i ever had..looks deadly. but 86 bucks? beyond my budgets. damn im hungry now..

  • Whoever that guy was, didn't know the difference between fresh steak and dry aged steak. How does he even go commentating on a topic he knows nothing about?

  • cash only means avoid taxes haha

  • well done.........but what about the side dishes? dessert?

  • You don't like an old fashioned restaurant, then don't go, whiny-voiced lilliputian hipsters ought to go elsewhere, they ruin a meal. You don't want to pay what they charge? There's the door. It's not like any of this has been hidden, even by accident. PL has worn their banner open for a long time, they don't want to be sniveling(I mean, Yellllllowwwwww!), they just want to serve the finest meat money can buy. Case closed.

  • the only reason you thought it was too expensive is bc you dont appreciate food from the gods peter lugers is worth $200 its tht good

  • for all that food if you want to pay $40 go to mcdonalds..next time your at peter lugar take notice of the cars in the parking lot a $100 bill is nothing to the people that go there

  • @Jimmy1tooth I'd really feel ripped off if I spent $40 for 2 people at McDonalds :)

  • @yellowwproductions even if they were fat and hungry and left happy

  • @yellowwproductions wow, imagine you'd get full also with 2 mcchickens lol. I loveee steaks, but never the best quality ones.

  • @Jimmy1tooth I just ate there a few weeks ago. Love it!

  • @JediGTI if you went to peter luger on long island we may have been there at the same time

  • @Jimmy1tooth your review was incomplete.....sides? dessert? while expensive, pl packs them in every day.

  • @coreyagraph sides are pretty good ,i go with the home fries and spinach or the number five shrimps they serve my friends like the slice bacon to start to me thats to heavy before a steak..dessert not my favorite place but i do like the apple pie but dont like the whipped cream they put on top i find they use to much heavy cream in it. they do have wine and they can help you pick one but i like to have dark beer which they have on tap or bottle. the bathroom is to small but clean

  • @Jimmy1tooth the man made a valid comment...your mcdonalds comparison was irrelevant...there's a big difference b/w a reasonably priced meal and fast food...steak houses rip people off...it gets to a point where you're just throwing money away...12 dollars for a chunk of iceberg lettuce...14 dollars for a potato...i understand it's a nice place and you're paying for the ambience and service...but a lot of these places are not so much restaurants as they are "hey, let me impress my date" places

  • @MurphGiovanni i was there just 2 weeks ago and people were there with there family and not just there to impress a date.mcdonalds is not "irrelevant" because to feed a family of four in a fast food restaurant will cost you $40 .this place isnt for people like yourself for one they dont accept coupons and something tells me you squeeze a quarter so hard that the eagle screems

  • @Jimmy1tooth lol...nice speculation...i'm an investment banker...i can afford this bullshit place...i'm just not a pompous moron like yourself...and it was irrelevant to imply that someone who finds this placy costly should go eat at mcdonalds...interesting, you have the wit of a public school student, yet the attitude of someone who grew up on park ave...just an awful human...a real piece of filth

  • @MurphGiovanni wow you open certificates of deposit for people ..real skill

  • Don't believe these guys, they probably never tried other steakhouses that cost about the same as Luger. It's a high quality steak house!! If you want to spend 30 bucks per person for steak just go to out back... Peter Luger is what inspired Wolfgang Zwiner and Ben & Jack's steakhouses to open their doors.... Go and try for yourself and you'll see....... This type of review must explains why yellowproduction have less than 400 views here..

  • @ttelan It's a good steak -- don't get me wrong... Outback is not anywhere near it. But I do think Ruth's Chris makes an equally good steak :) And they'll take my credit card :)

  • @ttelan The best steak is Aberdeen Angus, if you ever manage to get to Scotland try Scottish beef it just melts in the mouth! Im not saying this steak is bad, its just not quite the best.

  • @ttelan you know when great athletes are compared; all that is looked at are the championship rings.

when you talk about restaurants; it is how long they have been open. peter lugar......over 100 YEARS.

    enough said................

  • Mouthwatering.:D what's the music at the end of this clip?

  • @Ryancuasay The music at the end is "California" by Phantom Planet.
