  • Working form the inside - very useful tip!

  • I will now, after hearing your story, put my safety glasses on 1st from now on. Great video, and kudos for mentioning something most of us would never have admitted to.....not in a million years, not ever. :p

  • Hi Again Stu

Thanks for the advice on the lathe. Im in the DFW area and we dont get a lot of really large bowl material in the stores here so I don't think I would be missing much turning capability. The DVR XP is a whole lot easier to move by myself.

Your multiple videos on the bedan were especially good. Thats the first time I have seen anyone demonstrate its proper use. The bedan appears to be used much like a skew but appears much easier to sharpen.

    Again Many Thanks

    Paul

  • Hi Stu

I am looking at purchasing a Nova DVR XR because it is so compact and I am space limited, what is your overall opinion of the lathe. Any serious deficiencies? Enjoyed both of the bowl videos.

    Thanks You

    Paul

  • HI Paul

I have the Nova DVR-3000, the lathe before the DVR-XP. I really love my lathe, it will do about 98% of the things I want to do, the last 2% are LARGE turnings, and I'm talking BIG stuff only. The DVR-XP has some really good upgrades over my lathe, so yes, I would recommend it. I know a couple of guys who have the DVR-XP and they love it.

    Good luck!

  • It is a Tekna Tool Nova DVR.

    Cheers!

  • what make of lathe do u have?
