  • What is the Zoo album called?

  • can you ship your library of psychedelic?

  • PETE WHY HAVE YOU SKIPPED THE JERICHO JONES ALBUM?!

  • I'd love to flip through your collection, just once.

  • Wow. Here I've been thinking "Evil Woman" was a Spooky Tooth song! WOOPS!

  • Awesome :)! I'm not that well studied on psychedelic music, so this is educational for me.

  • Pete I have a question!!!! is the singer from PULSE the same singer from Third Power??? he looks and sounds just like him.. btw u´re the man!!!!! I love all this compilation of urs!!! makes me wanna cry for not been born in that era,, shame shame shame..... I´d have love to marry any one of these guys cause of that enormous talent of theirs,,,, this is true psychedelia

  • @Fetusluxan Yeah, they might sound similar but there are two different guys, Jem Targal is the singer of Third Power, he did some solo recordings later on, but I have not heard any of them, the singer of Pulse was Carl Donell, dont know anything about him, dont think he appeared on any album before or after Pulse, but I cound be wrong..

  • GREAT STUFF MAN

  • DAMN! Great music

  • haystacks balboa ???? good

  • Personally, I prefer the track "Sailing" from this album over their version of "Evil Woman" and thought Spooky Tooth did it better

  • Most of this sounds like bad Deep Purple imitations. Ruth Cpoeland is hot though!

  • wow i love you man this is like a breath of fresh air.im an artist tha makes visual art about this music and after my ivy league educaton the art world turned its back on me because the word psychedelic is a plague in the over intellectualized conceptual art world .I still think there is a place for rock and roll in the art world.anyways the time you took to make this video is understood and it keeps me motivted to keep workin.keep truckin..my name is rico adventura contact me on facebook

  • Tracklist?

  • @SebGarth Well, well, well! spoken by a man who´s favourites include The Kingston trio! pathetic!

  • @dyvelsten hahah true that guy is a dumbass this list is great. I like the version of Evil Woman i think it replaced the Canned Heat version as my favorite cover of the song

  • These underground perfect songs are the light of my heart.... the unike style of music that has ever existed in life,, ur collection is a treasure chest,,

this is the pure legend.... we got these tunes for eternity

as long as there's heavy psychedelic there's also life and hope (to live with joy for something that's really worth living for)

thank you so much for sharing them with us, Pete

  • Damn, those are some deep cuts! I hadnt heard of any of those, except for Frijid Pink and Love, but I liked what I was hearing! I cant wait to hear more!

  • dyvelsten, I'd kill for your record collection. oh my god...

  • God! Where can I find this music?! This is the best stuff I've heard since I discovered The Beatles!

  • @cocoskanin Also considering the rest of the countdown.

  • You have excellent tase in music. I envy your record collection. You are the only person I have a sub to, for good reason. How long have you been collecting?

  • Great collection!

  • All this Albums & Music are Priceless Legends!

  • is that first song Evil Woman a Canned Heat cover

  • great videos and music !! i have many US psychedelic records too! look at my videos like " KRISTYL " xian heavy blues psych LP

  • just look at that collection... a true music enthusiast, just beautiful

  • @cybolt : according to wwworiginalsbe, the first recorded version was by a guy called Guy Darrell on the Piccadilly label. No, I never heard of him either...

  • My boss in three and 1/2 hours is going to ask to come into his office. d(:

  • So awesome...

  • Is Blue Cheer to "mainstream" because they had one number 11 hit? is there any blue cheer on these vids? Cuz they were probably the heaviest of the late 60s psychadelic bands

  • @happywarmgun13 Actually I had a Blue cheer track (fruits and iceberg) on the original list, but due to copyright reasons I was forced to lift them off the list, but I agree 100% with you, they had deserved to be represented here.

  • @dyvelsten oh ya. Damn WMG. But i love the list anyway. the 10-1 list was awesome i didn't think anyone else had ever heard of Morgen. nice list. 5 stars

  • What is the name of that Pulse album?

  • @Odadelyus The "Pulse" album is untiteled, but it was released on Poison Ring in the US and Major Minor in the UK.

  • ta bien pinche pesado puto

  • I think Ruth Copeland's song is Play with Fire.

  • hey the first one is a spooky tooth cover, isn´t it?

I like it! never heard of some bands you posted here but they are great!!!!

  • what Detroit album is 100% great from start to finish?,.........wow,,you gotta be kidding me

  • What is the name of the album of Felt?

  • wow, ruth copeland really got me! does anyone know where i can find this song?

  • U r melomane goodfather.

    Great list

  • I always thought Spooky Tooth originated "Evil Woman." Now I hear Yesterday's Children doing it, and I'm wondering who covered who? Find out BOTH YC and Spooky Two came out in 69 and no one for either band wrote the song... it was written by Larry Weiss, quite a terrific writer (Bend Me, Shape Me).

Further, Weiss gave the song to Canned Heat and near as I can tell, THEY did it first, in 1968 on their "Boogie w/Canned Heat" album.

    Anyway, the collection rocks!

  • Like I have commented in your other videos I am truly amazed at the music collection you have. I wonder how long it would take to listen to your entire catelog of music. Anyway, thanks for putting together this countdown.

  • Love Frijid Pink!

  • God I remember "Evil Woman."

  • You definetly need to insure that collection... it's awesome!!!

  • this rocks sir

  • God bless you Dyvelsten for such greatness . I thought that I knew my ROCK .... Now you opened my eyes ... Thanks again ...

  • The 'Ruth Copeland' worked for me! She is great but never heard of her. Was she ever in a band?

    Thanks.

  • alright, thanks a lot!

    Cheers

  • Cant see the titel of nr 39? The zoo?

    Greets

  • @Templer1066 Yes "The Zoo" and the album was called "presents chocolate moose"

  • @dyvelsten Is it possible to get a full list of the bands and/or songs shown in this video? Would love to know so that I can pick up the vinyl one day. Of course, the artwork will probably catch my eye too.

  • you need to insure that collection.....!

  • from the USA..in that case u must be missing the master. An Englsih, Syd Barret lead Pink Floyd. best psychedelic rock ever

  • Excellent.

  • i need to have this!!! Please help me get it!! Please!!!Ineed this music!!!!

  • ME TOO!

  • Comment removed

  • I like the way you put this video together.

  • Could you give me a list of the songs heard?

    Thanks.

  • Learned a lot from that. Thanks for the effort. Very well done!!

  • damnnnn!!! these songs make a vision of my unike world,,pass on the wacky tobacky man, let the legends of these songs live forever,, OOUUUuuchhhh

  • Nicely done but I wonder why the cover version of "Evil Woman" rates an entry since all they did was note-for-note the Spooky Tooth version.

  • These lists are fascinating!! Thanks for posting!

  • llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

    ooolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

    oooooooooooooooooooo

  • jaar

  • The spooky tooth cover song is NOT the best song on the Yesterdays children LP.

In my humble opinion it's their own song She's Easy.

Haystacks Balboa is probably the BEST "satanic rock" LP ever. On the other hand: Frijid Pink is probably the WORST (overrated) of all the good Detroit bands from the sixties.

  • I can agree with you about Yesterdays Children, there are some tracks on that album I like more than Evil Woman to, sure! The doomy Hunters Moon for example, but what is wrong with Frijid Pink? I think their 2 first Lps are some of the dirtiest and roughest (in a positive way) ever to emerge from Detroit! Of course there are some lame tracks in between, but tell me what Detroit album is 100% great from start to finish?

  • I once made myself a Detroit sixtiepunk compilation and had a real hard time to pick a Frijid Pink track. Somehow Frijid Pink is not psych enough but nevertheless also not hard enough for my ears. I ended up choosing "End Of The Line" from the first album.

  • My favourite Detroit albums is: Funkadelic - What's Funkadelic (1970) Bob Seger System - (First album 1969) SRC (Scot Richard Case) - (First album1968) The Third Power - Believe (1969) Grand Funk - E Plurius Funk (1971) Frost - Through The Eyes Of love (1970) Cactus - Retrictions (1972) (NY/Detroit) ...and of course the masterpieces: Stooges - First album (1969) and Funhouse (1970) MC5 - (First album live 1969)
  • Nice list, I'd have to go with "Maggot Brain" with Funkadelic, love the Bob Seger System "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man", how about Mongrel as well? And no question, the debut Stooges & "Funhouse", along with "Raw Power", & the first MC5 are all essential!!! Since were talking Detroit, I've got to throw in (I know, this is later stuff, but what the hell), The White Stripes- "Elephant"!!

  • I'll have to disagree--- Frijid Pink is some damn good stuff!!

  • Well, they're for sure better than Brownsville Station and maybe even in line with Rare Earth or Savage Grace, I'll give you that ;-)

But still, they are best known for the plain cover versions of "House Of The Rising Sun" and "We're Gonna Be There".

  • Well now, I happen to like B.S., how can you not like 'ol Cub Koda?? And I never thought of Frijid Pink's cover of "House Of The Rising Sun" as being in any way "plain"! But I probably like a bunch of the other tunes on Frijid's debut more than the Rising Sun cover!!

  • You know, fuck that, I love the "House of The Rising Sun" Frijid Pink tune, that whole first album is great!!

  • Hmm, this was answer to jeffthrow6892 but seems to be placed on top

  • @PlasmicGoo That Yesterdays Children album....what can I say?

There is not one dud track on the album and everyone that is into this genre should own it.

  • :] brazil metal :]

  • couldnt really call the mc5's high times albulm psychedelic, the production is so bare (in a good way)

some nice albulms tho dude thanz for posting!

  • can i have the same pist 1-40 pls? :)

  • Can you give me a list of these bands 1-40 please?

    Thanks.

  • Sweet collection. Makes me jealous that I was too young when these came out.

  • The Zoo, the best!! If someone has The Zoo "Chocaolate Moose" LP please contact me. I'll pay you or do some trading! Thanks!

  • Aw, man, another excellent installment of GREAT heavy American psych! Starting off with a great overlooked band from my hometown Cincinnati, Ohio; Yesterday's Children. Great album! You should check out another great Cincy psych band Sacred Mushroom. Also from the Midwest (Detroit) Frijid Pink, another one of my favorites! And while many people point to "Forever Changes" I think "Out Here" is one of Love's best! Great job. I would kill for your record collection, man. Where'd you get all these?

  • We both know it must be his Dad's collection!!!!

And what a collection it is!!!!
