@dubrovchanka IP addresses depending on your internet service provider [ISP] sometimes change for everytime you connect to the net. If that is case and the next time you are assigned a different ip address by your ISP, you may not be that lucky. Also, the google maps can only be accurate in countries it has mapped extensively. If you are in such a country then you can be sure of someone finding your aproximate address. If not someone in authority can still contact your ISP for your details.

To track where you are and which pages you go through or what you search for, it is not required that you use chrome. your isp and your office network admin can find that data. Your ISP have all these information and much more while you are worried about what google stores. In internet nobody is really incognito unless you develop a skill not to propagate this info like the hackers do and even best of them will get caught sometimes

Nah! The search text is sent to G so that ur search results appear as u type. You can disable this feature in 'Settings / Search Settings / Google Instant Predictions'. What the packet sniffer is detecting is simply the traffic sent by this feature 2 the server and there is no other way to achieve this, i.e., you HAVE to send the search text to google in order to get results, otherwise how would Google know what to display? Think about it. Take it from a programmer, this is normal! :-)

The difference is google doesn't store files in your registry or computer unless you download them. For example sony was sticking various files to spy on people who illegally downloaded their products which is illegal. So as far as google doing shady stuff which does suck, its not illegal.
