  • Blessing to the Sylvers.. My husband and i have introduce our two adult sons to your music.. They truly love MISDEMEANOR, I guess because they know that the 70's Rule.

  • love this song but too short.

  • This was the jam back then. I used to have both the Sylvers and MJ all over my bedroom walls. Just saw them on unsung and I really wished they could have recorded more hits with their brother Leon 'cause you know they had it in them. Maybe their kids can continue the legacy or maybe someone can write a play or a movie of their lives. Wow they had so much promise. Maybe a reuion tour when the two youngest ones get out of prison. Anyway thank you Sylvers for your music, you are not forgotten

  • According to Leon Sylvers on the Sylvers' Unsung, this was going to be on the Sylvers' first album as Leon wrote it around 1969 for Edmund to sing but they struggled to get a deal for two and a half years and when they finally got a deal in 1972, Edmund's voice was too deep for the song's arrangement so that's why Foster got the song. :)

  • A CLASSIC, UNDERPLAYED, UNDER RECOGNIZED TALENT. I LOVED THE SYLVERS, TOO BAD WE DIDN'T HAVE ALL THE FREEDOM THEN THAT BLACK ARTISTS HAVE NOW TO OWN THEIR MUSIC, AND THEIR CAREERS. THEY PAVED THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!11

  • This kid had the chops! Cant help but think that his career was hurt by the fack that he kind of sounded like a young Michael Jackson who came out just a few years prior.

  • @Tudaman Yep! Sounded JUST like him, if not just a teeeenzy bit better. No offense at ALL to the King of Pop though. Foster was just as adorable, if no more so, than Michael. The Jackson's and Joe just beat Mrs. Sylvers and the gang to the punch on being the FIRST novelty in their field, ya know. Both families had talent. The Sylvers had more funky mature songs though than the Jacksons. They each captured the ears of folks ages 5 to probably 50 back then! So much talent!

  • This song takes me back to a wonderful time in my life. I can't spot the tears from flowing down my face and I'm a 54 year old grandfather of 6. I wouldn't want them to see me at this stage.

  • How dare they say that the sylvers was a Jackson 5 knock off,to me they were before the Jacksons. I heard so many songs that i had forgotten when I watched unsung they were the best.

  • @neyochick21 The Sylvers (least the eldest members - Olympia, Leon, Charmaine and James) have been together since Michael was born! LOL Foster Sylvers was not an MJ knockoff by any stretch of the imagination. Huge fan of Michael but come on lol besides Motown didn't give Michael anything funky like this until "Dancing Machine" and his voice had deepened by the time this song came out lol

  • I use to be in the Sylvers fan club LOL, I'd get my letter every once and a while LOL

  • lol be for the jackson 5 ther was a slvers 6 so whos be lik who~!!!!

  • Is there a vid for this?

  • He sounds like the young Micheal Jackson. Loved that song.

  • @Soulthinker2007 I think that's who The Sylvers thought they were...The Jackson Five, because when I first heard this, I thought this was them too lol. Still an awesome song ♥

  • FUNKY ENOUGH

  • When this song came out it was on hit! But they didn't play it on the radio much - shame.

  • This is real music. I wish that Foster Sylvers would re-release this song along with "Happy".

  • ITS FUNKY!!!!!!

  • THE GIRLS USED TO GO CRAZY OVER FOSTER. ANOTHER HIT BEFORE ITS TIME

  • I always thought it was the Jackson 5 who made this song

  • where can i download this

  • @AintGoin . Currently this song is not available outside a 1970 disco ablumn which features several songs by various groups.

  • The bass and the afros kick asses! Fine ass sisters too!

  • Back in the day did this song get any airway play?

  • @MAYDAYES Sure did: #7 R&B and #22 pop.

  • lol....I remember when people used to think that the song said 'Frankenstein"...but they were saying 'back in stride'....lol

  • A read of an article on the Sylvers on Wikipedia will reveal that they have a long and distinguished track record in show biz. However, the release of Misdemeanor caused the inevitable comparisons to Michael and the Jacksons. Indeed, Foster does sound like a young MJ

  • @BishopsJazz . True. But Foster has a smoother voice and range then Michael.

  • is it just me or does this sound a lot like Young Michael jackson.

  • @Bellagirl06 . Foster does sound a little like Michael but his range is more natural than Mike's and at this particular time Foster was giving Mike a run for his money despite being four years younger than Mike.

  • I remember when I didnt know if this Michael Jackson or Donny Osmond- then only to find out it was a new group called Foster Sylvers then the family came out The Sylvers

  • @ilshou2000 . Actually, the Sylvers were already a group at the time when this song was made. However, Foster's solo success got the family's attention and both he and his other two sisters- Angie and Pat were added to the Sylvers and thus the group was completed with all nine family members.

  • i love this song @lovingthis07 they did a where they now in jet magazine i was suprized with wht happened with sylvers.

  • does anyone have an mp3 of this song?

  • shyne - thats gangsta

  • zebe what shit doo its misterfatcuzz that shit iz hard baby baby halla at cha boi now thats good music halla

  • I finally found it!!!

  • Ironic that he sang this song and is now a charged as one.

  • lmao, you wrong for that one!

  • There's this website on celebs of old, where are they now, and how they went down hill, and thats what its called downhill,com...interesting read, I'll just stay poor and unknown (thank you)

  • This was and is the jam im 27 and i know a lot of cats my age or younger mistake this for a jackson 5 song.50 cent did something over this raw no sample as well.I like both but this, perfection.

  • Misdemeanor..

  • Aw man! I forgot all about the Sylvers. I used to love this song. Little Foster was so cute. Actually, just like the Jacksons this was a very attractive family.

  • I agree. They were. They had the best and biggest afros also. They brought a lot of magic and should be as revered as J5. I wish that VH1 Behind the Music would do an expose on them or somebody do a bipic on this family.

  • Check out the D.O.C. 's song " Funky Enough " they sampled this

  • I agree, somebody's gotta have it! I'm going to look for it...can't believe the good songs that I forgot about? The bass and the drums are the first instruments that I catch!

  • anybody has the footage of this song performed live? hey if michael jackson's stuff is still in circulation I know This song should be because Michael jackson is like 6 years older than this kat and his stuff is still in circulation. Please somebody have this???? I know they were on Amer. Bandstand and Soultrain performing this. It was so cute. It was Foster Sylvers, Angie and Pat Sylvers. It was really a cute preformance! somebody gotta have it. Its from 1973....

  • ....And of course Foster and fam are sounding real good.

  • The bass has got me hooked!!! I love this song! The drums are jammin' too!

  • This was my jam back in the day & I still listen to it on cd now. I LOVE the Sylvers. What are they doing now & where are they now?

  • I agree, this was the jam, after I found it on youtube, I was wondering what happened to them too. They have had there trial and tribs to- One of the brothers died of lung cancer at 47, the little baby "Foster" is now a registered sex offender ,not much is mentioned on the girls of this band, I tell you there's something about fame, what do you do after you fade away?
