Who knows the song from 4:03 to 6:22? Yes, I know that must be "Autobahn", but I don't recognize this specific version, so, where appears that version?
They don't cover the groups on the PIlz or Ohr labels nearly enough. Little mention of Cosmic Jokers, Walter Wegmuller, etc. ...or what about Rolf-Kaiser Ulrich? ...all these ot
What a lovely documentary! It is so nice to hear the members from Kraftwerk saying that there is no difference between humans and technology and about electricity flowing through the veins of the human body. Very thoughtful.
@davidsan01 Yep, I'm afraid so. Of course that's just my opinion, and opinions are like assholes, everyone has one...but I think Klaus Schulze owns all of those little robotic fruitcakes. Luckily we got to see Klaus generate some of his electronic magick. Best regards...
interesting that money is only mentioned now. in Synth Britannia all the brits were talking about how much they paid for synths, where they got them from etc. Maybe because we're obsessed with class. However, to buy big analogue synths in the early seventies you needed a LOT of money. And these bands were not popular either.
Growing up in Australia I only knew of Kraftwork and Tangereen Dream, I feel like my whole life would have been different if i knew of these other artists. I love this music, I am born again!!!
Goddamn! This is manna from Heaven! Interviews with all the major players- well, the ones who are still alive. Definitely the most purely righteous scene to emerge in the last 20 or 30 years.
I like early Kraftwerk best. Im not a huge fan of the later stuff, but they're classic.

True innovators, even to this day. They went back to the basic elements of music, making sounds and rythms.

@cazurrox It's the last section of the original 23 minute version, not the version on The Mix.

Does anyone else notice that Florian from Kraftwerk, in his younger days, looked *exactly* like Will Forte does?
MercuryClock 1 year ago
@MercuryClock
Agreed. Coincidentally, Will Forte is one of the Germans in Beerfest. Maybe he was chosen because of the resemblance.

Cosmic Jokers weren;t a "real" band (more of an LSD fueled pne-off super groop). they don't mention Ash Ra Tempel either. or Agitation Free, et al...

Kraftwerk suck. More obscure krautrock bands should've been covered, but oh well.
