You should do but it can get quite low for me at really intensive points where there's a lot of track/trains etc but I think you're all set ;-)

For MSTS the main ones I use are the East Coast Express packs which form the route of Kings Cross to York and Leeds. I also have the Great Eastern line from Liverpool St to Ipswich, the West Coast Express packs (Euston to Birmingham and the Cross-City line) and a few others like Cardiff to Bristol. If you've got a high spec PC you could think about Rail Simulator which has better graphics and routes like Paddington-Oxford and York to Newcastle.

i hav the Swanage Route, Skipton - Carlisle, Woking - Basingstoke and Settle - Carlisle 1930.

Oh well fair enough, you seem all set up for MSTS but if you have a few pounds lying round think about RailSim because you can get it for about £12 online which is a damn sight cheaper than what I paid (£35). I hated it at first but it has grown on me a lot and now I am even making reskins for it.

Why is the train not on the platform properly? Why is there a 455 heading into weymouth when these are used for suburban services around london? Why is there a 159 Heading for weymouth?

I'm fascinated by this - stumbled across this by chance. Had no idea you could do this on your PC. Have to say I am definitely not an SWT fan though - I live next to one of their stations and I think you've nicely captured the awful screech of the desiros and the irritating guard's whistle!! Now you just need to add endless repeats of "Platform 1!!! For the South West Trains Service to...London Waterloo!!!!" :-)

That is not the 450 Cab view what are you using and how do you change it?

The platforms are number backwards in weymouth, and the train colors are wrong, and southwest only use platforms 1 & 2, whilst that shows platform 3.

I say this not playing any simulators, just a commuter who came across this! =]

The route is rather demanding in parts even for a good computer. You would be best off using Trainstore which might come on the disk or you can download it online which only loads the trains and routes MSTS needs to do the activity you want - It makes things a lot faster to load.

I downloaded the Dorset 1,2,3 and 4 route but it always just brings up a sighn saying "failed to open package" Do you think i am doing something wrong or missing out something?

I think that station appears on the Dorset Coast route - You can download that from the same site but if I'm being honest I found it a hard route to install with many files to download and install - I would just buy the disk from that site for £4.50 and save the trouble. The disks also come with loads of activities and rolling stock so they are well worth it.

Class 444 is what I think you are talking about there. I'm afraid I haven't seen one available for MSTS.

What disc is this. I've had so much trouble with downloading it before so you might be a helpful MSTS Expert that can help me.

I am willing to spend money on discs if it will mean i can install stuff.

If you go on UKTS, click on the CD Ordering link on the left, enter your username and password and then you can see what they have on offer. You will find Dorset Coast on there for £4.50 - Well worth the money if you ask me just to not have the pain of downloading and installing but you also get a load of stock and activities.

the saying is "Right Away Driver". Right Of Way is railway teminology that the driver has clearnece to proceed away from the platform. Where trains have no guard aboard(driver Only operated)you will see just underneath the signal that "CD" will iluminate,that tells the driver to "CLOSE DOORS",and when they are closed the platform staff will press a button and the RA "RIGHT OF WAY" will iluminate and the driver will proceed away from the sattion.

I am a train driver for Southwest Trains,and the "squeeling noise" comes from the trins traction motors.The motors on the class 450 are AC current and the 750V live rail is DC current.The distinticve noise comes from the current being converted form DC to AC.

Also for a cab to work you sometimes need to 'alias' it - Scroll down on UKTrainsim and look for Tutorials on the left hand navigation bar and click on 'Beginners Guide' then choose Section 4
