This is one of my favourite places in England - I want my ashes to be scattered here - but not til I've climbed it a few more times! BTW according to Peter Hunter Blair's "Anglo Saxon England", the name is a corruption of the Norse "Odinsberg".
Beautifully put together. All the different views. Lovely music. Its quite moving for me as both my parents ashes were scattered on the Roseberry Topping. I visit it regularly
Climbed Roseberry Topping in November 1994 while hiking Cleveland Way (Filey to Helmsley). There was a man laying bricks into the stone path that leads to the top of Roseberry Topping. Climbed it pretty quickly as I was doing alot of miles each day. Roseberry Topping is a stunningly beautiful highlight of the trail.
Thank you for posting this. I'm so fond of this hill and its environs. We have some of the most beautiful countryside in the world up here in the north-east of England. These pictures are glorious

I went walking up to Roseberry Topping today. I also went up to Capt. Cooks monument. I have lived in the area all my life. It's a wonderful place.

Known as Cleveland's Matterhorn. The Vikings worshipped the Norse God Odin there. It's a special place. Nice pics, great music.

Glad you enjoyed it. I live in Great Ayton and can see the peak from my back garden. I have photographs on display in the Royal Oak

Ooops...not bricks but stones. The man was placing stones into the path approaching Roseberry Topping.
