  • WOW THAT'S ALLOT OF SALT

  • @ALANLEEY : As we ALWAYS say - "Salt - to taste"

    Cheers :)

  • I made this recipe without the onions, and added more vegetables as a treat for our large birds. Quinoa is a complete protein, and is incredible for birds. Our guys loved the broth, and enjoy picking through the room temperature soup for bits of veggies.

  • show me the curry girl

  • Question: What do you mean by "cook for 1 whistle?" How many minutes at ten pounds of pressure?

  • @MyFreedomChannel : The Pressure Cookers we have, most of them are the whistling kind so can't tell you exactly how much time yous will take. Quinoa cooks pretty fast, so, once your Cooker has attained pressure, just another couple of minutes after that should be ample time.

    Hope that helps :)

  • @ShowMeTheCurry Oh, okay! When I find the owner's manual to my electric pressure cooker, I'll check to see what it has to say. Thank you anyway. :)

  • That sounds delicious! I just bought some quinoa to try and I've been looking for some recipes for it. Can't wait to put this together. Thank you, ladies! Make it a great day! :)

  • great recipe, you girls are absolutely wonderful, your show is simply divine

  • - why would you spice your dish before hand ? you can't taste it, can't know if you have to adjust it, where's the pepper ? would be bland.

    - don't use frozen vegetables and premade stock when making a soup. it results in a really bland product. soup should always be freshly made. else it's nothing better than buying already made soup.

    - cilantro is not coriander. close, but not ^^

    - quinoa is a good idea :-)

    - what's the point of using a pressure cooker if you don't cook it for long ?

  • yummy!! do you have to use a pressure cooker?

  • @22steFUNNY : No, you can make this without a pressure cooker. The cooking time will increase to about 30-35 min. or till the quinoa is cooked all the way.

  • Yey for Quinoa :D Peruvian people are very proud of it, including myself hehehe.

  • @ValeriaL00 : Double YEY for that :)

  • you two are really nice, nearly forgot about the soup :)

  • If you want to use couscous instead of quinoa, I would go with the Israeli or large couscous rather than the regular wheat because quinoa needs to cook a little longer.

  • /watch?v=m9FRSghXhDM

  • Terrific video... Thanks for sharing:)!

  • Chile pepper to taste this taste nasty! No garlic no sofrito taste bland! I don't like spicy hot food no curry either eew! Hindi can't cook!

  • @gladtidings4all

u make me laugh... Hindi cant cook?? That doesn't make sense, you say Hindi people cant cook, dude get ur grammar correct. And We can very well cook, they didn't put all those ingredients because the broth has that...

  • God bless you dear twins. Your recipe is very good!

  • can you please tell me what is quinoa called in HIndi or in India .

  • @majorrong

We have yet to find a hindi name for quinoa. Maybe some of our other viewers can help.

  • @majorrong @ShowMeTheCurry Would it be taboo to substitute Quinoa with couscous. I regularly do, they have a similar texture and are both very nutritious. As for a hindi word for Quinoa I don't believe it would exist. Quinoa is native to south america. In America we still call curry, curry, close enough to Kari... I would imagine finding quinoa outside of the Americas would be a little more difficult. But if there was a name it would probably phonetically be similar I would imagine.

  • @seshoki

We have not tried couscous in this recipe but think it may cook down too much and become mushy. Quinoa tends to hold its shape.

  • @seshoki Quinoa and cous cous look the same and kind of taste the same, but nutritionally speaking, quinoa is alot more valueable because it is a seed, full of protein and lots of other goodies, and will fill you up alot more. Cous cous is good, but it is made from semolina which is made from wheat, so it is processed, and man-made. Quinoa is more more wholesome and from nature. :-) Good to enjoy both though. Happy cooking!

  • @curiousSOUL22 I am not expert but I don't think they taste the same. I like couscous more. IMO the favor is milder and takes other favors better. I didn't know quinoa was healthier but i am not surprised

  • Omg, I just made it and it takes like a vegetarian/vegan version of menudo, or posole! Such simplicity can be fabulous, lol.

  • thanks for the recipe i made the soup using quinoa lasanga noodles taste great peace

  • it is actually pronounced 'keen-wa'

  • keenwah not quin noah

  • what pressure cooker you are using?tnx

  • if you dont have a pressure cooker , will a regular pan with a lid work as well when cooking this rescipe ? and also how long should you cook it for .

  • @pajado75 : Yes, you can make this in a pan (with a tight lid). You may need to use a a little more broth/stock as there will be more evaporation. As for the cooking time - should not be more than 20-30 minutes - keep checking.

  • uumm my quinoa came out so good:) I had to use Chicken broth instead of vegetable broth because where I am stationed at it's a hit or miss at the comminssary when shopping...lol I couldn't put green chilies either:(

  • That was great, as a college student trying to learn how to cook that recipe is very practical and seems delicious!

  • Hetal I love your voice!

  • Gr8 and healthy. Thanks

  • hey girls nice job :))) ur cute both ^^

  • Thank you ladies very much. I'm newly vegetarian and was at a long pause to what I could get and make that was inexpensive. Thank you for sharing! ^_^

  • Who uses pressure cookers?

  • @hibernius I do! ^_^

  • frozen vegetables and canned are horrible !

  • @LeonaEzmereIda This is a troll channel created by MombasaNightTrain. Dont listen to this faker. I would suggest reporting him

  • This is a very good recipe. Also, I like your presentation style :)

  • hi,i zafer from ireland but basically from hyderabad-india,i like ur cooking episodes,i just would like to know wat is QUINOA in urdu or hindi, thanking u.

  • @zafer99names There is no hindi or urdu word for quinoa, it is called quinoa(keen-wah) .

  • hey any body out there who knows the hindi name for QUINO PLEASE HELP

  • This looks hella easy, thank you very much. :)

  • Love all you teach!

  • that was lovely ladies thank you!

  • Looks delicious!

  • Very good recipe, I can't wait to make this!!

  • is it spicy/? if not will adding more chilies help?

  • yes... :P

adding more spicy chilies will make it spicier.

  • I'm actually very curious about Quinua, but I'm going to premake it and than make the soup, because I don't have a pressure cooker. That all said, THANK YOU for this amazing idea. I'm so excited to try it out.

  • Quinoa is the easiet thing to make - you just cook at like you would rice but it cooks quicker and is way lighter in texture. Recipes alway says to drain to avoid bitterness, but i've been cooking and eating it for years and don' rinse it and have never noticed bitterness.

  • Looks to liquidy =-/

  • Quino = deliciously nutritious! :)

Thanks Hetal and Anuja for all these recipes, they really are golden gems!

    <3

  • hey initially when i saw a few of your recipes I was like Blah!!! but later i noticed you guys are great and very practical!!

  • Thanks!!

  • @ShowMeTheCurry i was looking around for some cool soups to try. i have recintly got in to making homemade soup with a crock pot. a chicken soup that smi failed the chickin prity much turned to mush.i used a crock poted chicken that sat in the natural juice to long. next i tried a beef soup that came out great. i crock poted the beef all day at dinner and then made the soup( unlike the chicken.)any way could i doe your soup in the crock pot or not???

  • omg that looks so good! lol

  • Wonderful, thank you.

  • awesome,thanks!

  • QUINUA = QUINOA

  • how you call QUINOA in Hindi?

  • QUINOA

  • thanks for the receipe...but not everyone has a whistle cooker. can you please give time for pressure and non-pressure cooking and heat.

  • The great thing about Quinoa is that not only is it healthy but it cooks really fast as well.

If you do not have a pressure cooker that has a whistle and one of the other types, then allow the pressure to build up and then 5 mins max. and turn it off and follow the instuctions.

If you are cooking in a pot, add a little extra liquid (water or broth/stock), cover tight and allow it to cook for about 20-30 min. or till the quinoa is done.

This is an awesome wholesome soup, enjoy!

  • i LOVE how it is so easy! im eating quinoa,i love this little seed!

  • wonderful soup. Here in Canada people are enjoi8ng it.

  • When you say one pressure, does that mean let the whistle sound once? Wonderful recipe and I am gonna try it as soon as you let me know.

  • Yes, let the cooker whistle once before turning off the stove.

  • I love recipies like this! Delicious, quick, healthy, and cheap!

  • could this recipe also work if I used a crock pot?

  • We've never tried this recipe in a crock pot, but it should work.

  • You can get Quinoa in any state or city at a whole food store or trader joes or any health food store.

  • Unfortunately, there is no known hindi or gujarati word for Quinoa, pronounced keen-wah.

  • What brand and quart/litre pressure cooker is it a presto?

  • It is a prestige pressure cooker, 4liters.

In a week or so, we will have pressure cookers in our store on our website. Right now it's under construction, but check back next week.

    Hope that helps!

  • thanks for recipe, wts quinoa never heard, is there a hindi word for it?

  • Type of grain from South America.

  • It is a seed from Peru (South America). Very nutritious.

  • Dang! about that last comment, just realized typed last comment before watching vid as a pre-emptive suggestions for more usage of pressure cooking this looks good but quinoa is hard to find where i live
