Mark Lanegan's voice is monstrous, and he's got something to add on QOTSA's earlier work.

Alain is ok I guess but he fits more with the earlier work, but his bass is too muddy - Nick's was so much better. LtP wouldn't be the labum we know if Nick had cleaned up his act prior to his dismissal.

I'd say my lineup of choice is Mark/Joshua/Dave/Nick and maybe Troy.

The earlier is too raw and visceral to have someone piss about on the lapsteel, needs to tone it down for the UK shows in May.
